He even betrayed the dragons—the original masters!—and rewarded people for hunting them for glory, permanently damaging the spiritual balance of nature. But that was just the beginning. Next came the genocide of the Air Nomads, which completely wiped out the most spiritually connected culture on the planet. Then, their rapid technological advancement turned firebending into a tool for industry. If you think using lightning generation in a Republic City factory is a mockery of the art, the Fire Nation started that trend long before. Honestly, if the Royal Family hadn't gatekept lightning-bending as a status symbol, it would have been stripped of its spirituality much sooner.But the Fire Nation isn't the only culprit; Toph shares some of the blame, too. Originally, earthbenders stuck to traditional methods, using manual labor and their deep connection to the earth to do things like move trains in Ba Sing Se. But when Toph invented metalbending, she inadvertently pushed humanity even further into rapid industrialization and materialism. Ultimately, nature was twisted and conquered by these two forces. Fire and metal became the direct opposites of spirituality.

Reminder, Korra is a boyfriend kisser like Gwen from Total Drama Island. Korra had everything going for her show, interesting cast, returning characters, better animation, dynamic villains, and incredible sound score, EVERYTHING. Too bad the MC is so unlikable and it turned people off. This is why Turning Red Flopped, this is why Fionna and Cake Flopped, and this is why A New Wish Flopped.
