There's definitely been a big push towards new merch and a bigger presence at conventions, so current execs pushing to make it have wider appeal and be the network's new Rick and Morty is a very real possibility. But also the cancellation announcement was done during the Netflix and Paramount bid war, and like two days before WB announced they were swapping buyers to Paramount. So it might be they don't like execs from one or both companies, and are waiting to see how things shake out. Zach apparently reiterated on the whole possibly coming back later thing, so I doubt it's anything to do with burnout, and more just not wanting their big success to get destroyed by execs.

He mentioned that he *might* be interested in continuing under the right circumstances when the show was still fresh on the minds of both execs and fans. If anyone was going to be intrigued with the idea of doing more with it in the future, the time to set that hook is when the show is at the height of it's popularity. He can both be burned out but also realize that after having some time to recoup he may be ready to revisit the show, so getting people interested in that possibility right now was prudent.It would be much easier to have people interested in bringing it back and him telling them no than for him to realize (after a good long rest) that he does want to bring it back and try to drum up interest from zero several years later.
