What are the funniest unintentional things in comics?
>>153528851I never noticed how unflattering her side-profile was.
Carol Danvers
>>153528851Why are people upset about what was essentially meant to be a one-shot that got canceled due to COVID, especially when many other books were also canceled? It was never intended to be anything major in Marvel.
they never released it so these two dont really count imoIts just one of many bad idea that never got made
>>153528942>Why are people upset about what was essentially meant to be a one-shotWas it meant to be an out-of-season April Fool's joke?

>>153529297 It's something that never came out. It was supposed to be just the one shot and it was a tie into an event I don't think marble ever plan on it ever being important once the event was over that was down scared because of covid.
>>153529317It was a dumb comic and people made fun of it for being a dumb comic. One shot or otherwise it was retarded.
I always enjoy shit like this were they have the heroes give a smug speech about unity and breaking the cycle, and then 2 years later the fucking shadow king ends up being right because they always to revert back to a status quo setting.
>>153529297I don't see people making threads about Featherweight, though.
>>153529736There were and you faggots cried about it and did the same shit you are doing here.
>>153529863People aren't STILL making threads about Featherweight like they are of Safespace and Snowflake, though. Where is my weekly thread to laugh at Featherweight? Seems strange how anons are still pushing Safespace and Snowflake, Internet gas kid, and B-Negative, who were never in a published comic, and yet Featherweight who is equally cringe and stupid was only discussed once and then memoryholed.

>>153529736Correct me if I'm wrong, but when modern Klarion debuted in Seven Soldiers back in 2005 he was depicted as a teenager. Morrison intended that Klarion's pre-7S adventures were canon through time travel but regardless several years have passed in-universe since that story. He was still depicted as being a teenager in the Stephanie Brown Batgirl series and the approximate age of Steph, who was a college freshman. So exactly how old is Featherweight if Klarion is several years too young for her?
>>153529935>People aren't STILL making threads about Featherweight like they are of Safespace and Snowflake, though.Featherweight's issues aren't as overtly obvious as the New Warriors' were, unless you're really knowledgeable of the trans community and issues it faces. And even then, none of it's as bad as literally naming a character "Safespace," or having a "meme-obsessed super teen" that huffs his own farts ("internet gas").
hot claws
>>153529118This is so retarded. If a bunch of losers like al Qaeda ever made Dr doom cry, the entire organization would simply cease to exist within the hour. Whats more, there is just no way 9/11 would have happened in Marvel or DC with all those Super Heroes and organizations like SHIELD around. Fucking retarded.
>>153530828I understand what they're going but there's a genuine reason most superhero comics don't directly address real world issues this overtly. It's stupid at best and out of touch and gauche at worst.

>>153528942This was marvel's peak ignorance on display, pure propaganda of their ideological beliefs and it took the whole internet shitting on them to realise it was gonna be a massive flop.

>>153529297Comics have entrenched problems. Many people on /co/ don't read comics. Many people on /co/ are outrage tourists. This shit? Was hilarious, still is hilarious. That America Chavez book people love to bring up too? Hilarious too. But do we need thread #1000 about them? These books were so bad they are really not representative of the average, hence why they are constantly brought back up again as outliers. I'm not even saying the average book is good, it isn't, but still. Past a certain point it would be great to actually talk about anything else. We've all said it was stupid. No one is sucking up to corpos they just wonder why people are so stuck on the same thing years and years later and why it's always the same shit on /co/.
>>153529938Writers have been going: "Man, I'm so deep!" For like 50 years.
That fire and ice in Smallville run being (un)intentional infantilizarion fap fic.
>>153530211It sold incredibly poorly at the time because it was a literal "this shit is getting cancelled, do whatever" run. Only in collected edition years did it get forced as a classic.
>>153533868You can do that all you want but it won't convince the public and I've seen it fall apart in court, too

>What are the funniest unintentional things in comics?Personally I find Avengers #200 hilarious. Ms Marvel's solo book was cancelled and they wanted to write her out of Avengers so made her give birth to a bad guy then get into a relationship with him. Why was it unintentional? Well the original plot was too close to a What If...? issue where Carol is impregnated by the Supreme Intelligence, so they had to redo the plot at the last minute. The book had multiple writers credited including Jim Shooter, he took full responsibility for the mess of the book on his blog (as EiC at the time the "buck stopped with him") but he also stated he didn't remember actually suggesting any of the plot. None of them really realised how the book came across. One comics magazine interpreted this act as being rape and had an article called The Rape of Ms Marvel. Chris Claremont read this article and given how he had written Ms Marvel's comic, it irked him. Avengers Annual #10 recontextualised the situation as rape and had Carol admonish the Avengers before appearing in Claremont's X-Men title for a while, eventually becoming Binary. Famously Bendis is a huge fan of Avengers Annual #10 and I believe this influenced his creation of Jessica Jones and the rape plot lines in that book.
