How wordy should a comic be?

If it starts to feel like you're reading a novel, it has too many words. So, pretty much half of 80s comics.

Minimally.

Let the art do most of the talking. If you're obscuring the art to fit more speech balloons, you fucked up hard.

The only time I've ever seen this work is It Hurts!! because it was a completely absurd gag in a comic that's otherwise not that wordy and what was being said was just a long singular insult.

I don't have any problem with that, as long as it's neither meaningless nor boring
>>

I don't mind the wordiness but some paragraphs and line breaks would be appreciated.

This exemplifies a single panel for any given 1960's Marvel comic
