These comments are coming from literal children.
It's just a funny show that looks nice. Been a while since we've had a cartoon that can even hit that low bar.

>constant therapy speak
You're underselling how it has a literal therapy session and the villain exists because he's sad and no-one gave him a therapy session.
>Why is this shit so popular?
It's free, it's high effort, it's colourful, it refers to heavy topics but doesn't engage with them letting teenagers feel like adults, I'm sure girls love it, and it's not particularly offensive.
You could say it's shockingly good compared to cartoons from the past 20 years but no network would agree to signing on these people for the turnaround time and expected pay.
>>
>>153537668
It's popular because its audience is primarily composed of children raised on Youtube and Twitch

Most indie cartoons don't need to be 30 goddamn minutes. They rarely use the runtime effectively so there's a lot of dead air

Algorithmic push on a work by an autogynephile, at a time (2023) when the progressive illness was given unrestricted reign. Its continued popularity is only a rough measurement of how many suckers were born that minute.

>I saw a bit of that and it had the animation quality of an adult comedy
The "adult comedy" style is just basic rigged animation that pretty much most 2D cartoons use nowadays, and even then it breaks the style on occasion for jokes.

Nice little rebuttal but there is nothing special about it, the characters are just a bunch of tropes with very little depth and the dialogue is often time wasted instead of exploring them better. I don't think it's a bad show, it can be pretty entertaining and the animation is great, but I might not be part of the audience.

>Avatar: the Last Airbender ran from 2005-2008.
I remember it basically having the same level of following and just being a soap opera halfway between dragonball and therapy with its constant teases for action scenes they couldn't afford and lots of mouth flapping
Earth Book was 99% dragging its feet, Fire Book was a huge letdown
>Gumball, Regular Show, MLP:FiM, Phineas and Ferb, Bojack Horseman, Chowder, Young Justice, Centaurworld, Owl House, Smiling Friends
Some of these things, in their totality are as worthwhile, perhaps moreso because they kept children locked to screens so they wouldn't bother their parents, which a 25 minute 8 episode internet cartoon can't compete with
But preachy feminism, lame show, invoking flash animated banned show with its insane audience, perry the platypus is the only good part, depression but horse man, cheap shit, wannabe anime, cancelled womanshow, lmao, all my gay friends like this one... yeah if I rewatched any of these I'd probably cringe more than TADC makes me
>>
It is a show that is entertaining in such an outlandish, surreal and comical way that it unfortunately could have only become more popular if left forgotten about and viewed 10 years later as a "cult classic". Because then all the bitching and moaning about it would be barking at blown wind instead of entertained by the popularity crowd still clutching it like a pearl.

Come on now. It's not adding doing surrealism in an innovative way or having enough depth or weirdness(like the show in your image) to compare to it's predecessors. Now if it had been released 20 years ago then the situation would have been different.

AI is like 6 years old and Caine is a pretty good example of a hallucinating AI which is...really the prime example of surrealism in general. I know some fag is gonna start comparing him to characters like Spamton, and yeah there are similarities but even Caine feels more aimless and less real.

>I remember it basically having the same level of following and just being a soap opera halfway between dragonball and therapy with its constant teases for action scenes they couldn't afford and lots of mouth flapping
You are underage.
TLA was one of the few serialized animated western shows of its time that had a direct continuity within its episodes. A soap opera you could pretty much just pick up at any point, whereas Avatar had episodes that directly affected its status quo for entire arcs.
And the "teasing action scenes" bit on your end is just untrue. Avatar episodes follow a formula that almost always had an action scene in the third act, and with one exception (the dance off) it was some kind of fight.

You're just being a contrarian for the sake of it.

>because they kept children locked to screens so they wouldn't bother their parents, which a 25 minute 8 episode internet cartoon can't compete with
TADC is algorithm slop for iPad babies you retard.

>But preachy feminism
Gumball has better jokes than TADC and has better animation. If you want to knock it for "feminism" to LARP as a /pol/ack, the stop slobbering the she-cock of a show made by a troon that calls its "nonbinary" character emotionally intelligent for just sitting around brooding.

>invoking flash animated banned show with its insane audience
Again, you're bandwagoning on TADC.
MLP has better writing too, and outside of the corny "friendship is magic" dialect has adult topics. There's an episode that criticizes authoritarian leftism. There's an episode about toxic positivity. There's an episode about enshitification. I see fags like you say TADC has adult themes, but I really can't think of one.

>depression but horse man
Anon got filtered by big sad.

>cancelled womanshow
Are you the same schizo that posts that every show ended on creator-terms is "cancelled?"

>if I rewatched any of these I'd probably cringe more than TADC makes me

But how can you make fun of stuff when your story/characters aren't up to standard? Even in older animation you had way better written surrealistic stuff.

The Amazing Digital Circus has colorful, distinct character designs, admittedly fun animation, and archetypes known to attract online fandoms (including those in LatAm and Japanese/Korean/etc. westaboos).

Along with that, the bar for original "mature animation" is so low, that its more favorable qualities made it stand out that much further. The writing itself is above-average, but it's everything around TADC that made it blow up in popularity. Plus it's free on YouTube with official translations.
>>
>>153541572
>Along with that, the bar for original "mature animation" is so low
Is it really? Or is it something that exists only in recent times? I feel like american animation started to move away from sitcoms and there is of course also the a japanese and european animation. TADC is not more mature that some children cartoons like BTAS and atla as well.

That's the thing, it's not good, it's marketable.
The GLITCH bros have been making algorithm slop on youtube for years. They know how to maximize viewership on that platform.
TADC has everything it needs to be popular: it's 3D animated, looks like a kids show but isn't, features ADHD animation with character always moving. It's everything the youtube algorithm likes.
And now that TV is dead, we live in the age of "it's good because the youtube algorithm told me it was."
Welcome to modern day entertainment, anon.
