First season was pretty good. All the timeskips ruined it.

>>153538079
Woke.

It was refreshingly ambitious in a way I wish more superhero series were. Everything afterwards besides maybe Invincible is so bland.

Great first season, but they shot themselves in the foot by making every other season a timeskip following a new team of characters. I liked blue beetle and his story but ik hingsight the show ended up with too many characters too keep up with, or be invested too.
>>
>>153539011
It’s not any more characters than JLU or Brave and the Bold. Fans just expected every member to be fleshed out instead of accepting that outside of the original team and plot-relevant characters, they’re either supporting cast or cameos.
>>
>>153538079
Mediocre from the start

Started good then went to shit
>>
>>153539056
>JLU
The members of the league were always the main characters in each episode.

>Brave and the Bold.
Batman is the protagonist of each episode.

It's been said, but the further you get in, the more the show feels desperate to remind you it's "mature".
You wanna complain about "woke" but you could easily just cut those scenes from the story half the time
Like, Gabrielle's parents are immigrants from a Syria/Iraq stand-in moving to the old Imperialist US of A which has been at odds with their region for decades and is the polar opposite social climate.

They manage to adapt perfectly to the culture like they're from fucking Kosovo or like those who flee Iran, there's very little in the way of them having to navigate a post-9/11 US social landscape which would be stacked against them, they quickly adapt to the fucking alien computer that took over their daughter's body.

I can't be bothered to give a flying fuck about Halo because the story smooths itself over because it has 11 different fucking plotlines to juggle.

>The members of the league were always the main characters in each episode.

Not always, and they feel flattened compared to how they were in JL. Plus they had to juggle other, less developed newbies like Green Arrow, Black Canary, Question, Vixen, etc.

It’s the same problems, but DCAU always gets a pass due to nostalgia.

Been a while since I saw a FPBP that I actually agreed with that wasn't just shitting on OP.
>>
>>153539056
It's different because Young Justice started out very small cast focused and when season 1 ended it was still focused on the small cast for the most part and a lot of their arcs weren't finished. Then the time skips started happening, the cast bloated out and what storylines people wanted to see were pushed to the side or were wrapped up poorly.

JLU and Brave and the Bold were billed as team-up shows from day 1 where the intent was clearly never to hype focus on one character but rather give us a broad tasting of the universe.

I overall enjoyed the series, but we should've gotten at least of season of this team before the time skip.
>>
>>153538079
Used characters and deep cuts in fresh ways for better and worse. Especially early on it rarely felt like “look a reference” was supposed to be the appeal but rather how they were applied in the plot or had a new spin, which made discussions lively and made it feel like they were really trying to define the Earth-16 universe.
>>
>>153539316
This. It was bad from episode one and never improved.
>>
>>153541054
Blame Geoff Johns for wanting “modern” characters to synergize. They had to do the time skip earlier than planned so the show would get renewed.
>>
>>153541162
Nope, fag

What was with the hijabi alien wearing a dead girl's body? Was it a transgender metaphor?
>>
>>153541292
You can tell the writers were white by Halo's whole storyline.
>AI wearing the corpse of a terrorist
>continues to wear hijab out of respect of its deceased host
>then decides to practice Islam to continue
>BUT
>also declares herself non-binary, and then gets a girlfriend
The writers can't fucking understand how that is mutually exclusive.
>>
>>153538079
Sex with Superboy even if it fucking kills me.
That is all.

Famously Islam is the only religion where everyone 100% follows every rule or lesson in it.

How did Greg Weisman cook so hard with this character?
>>
>>153538932
Yeah this is why I really don't want Spectacular Spider Man to come back
>>
>>153538079
I hate that they depowered Conner to such a ridiculous degree and made his love interest a random D-list character that groomed and raped him.

The way it ended with the wedding was a decent series finale and probably the best season finale to end on out of the 4. The last season focused on the original characters and resolved the Fate story, it definitely could've ended worse.

Wanted to see their version of Supergirl

I like competent villains, but them always being like five steps ahead of the heroes gets annoying after a while.

I'm I the only person who actually really likes Season 3?

Yes, Islam exists nonwhere else in the world outside of Islamic countries. Not a single one has ever left. It's crazy really.

Also you seriously fucking believe that unironically? How fucking stupid are you? Christ.

YJ and SSM are two different shows with different co-showrunners and rules behind them. It’s presumptuous to assume they’ll go the same path. Plus Weisman’s Gargoyles comics is a stronger revival that stays faithful to the storytelling of the original show. It’s unfair to dismiss that solely due to YJ.

Kahndaq is an Iraq stand-in. That's a pretty conservative Muslim country. Hell, even Turkey, Jordan, or Egypt would be a bit strict.
The muslim family in the show is what happens when you ignore the geography of the religion and how conservative vs liberal various regions would be with it. Coming off as a pretty standard Muslim American family instead.
And as said before, it feels less like it was done for the sake of wokeness and more like a lack of willingness to actually commit to the kind of culture shock that many refugees go through when entering Western countries

Granny Goodness wasn't voiced by a male elderly actor, thus I knew it was a shite show.

it got worse with each season and kept squandering its potential.
It would have been more fondly remembered if it was never revived

thanks for the surge in Cheshire art tho

I liked the geopolitics and metahuman arms race stuff but that was about it. neat ideas but the execution was lacking

This is the best thing you can say about it, ending with the wedding is the best ending it could have gone out with

Weisman wanting Wally to stay dead was weird though
