Would you agree that there are no super hero comics left that are aimed at non-adult readers?

No, and you’re retarded for thinking otherwise.
>>
>>153539361
>>153539457
I think you're both right and retarded. All jokes aside, I think there's a demographic between these two that are ignored.
>>
>>153539623
Teenagers, yes. The comics aimed at adults are often branded 13+, so the big two probably think they’re sufficient enough to draw in the kids.

Maybe the Rivals tie-in comics would count for *actual* teenage-aimed comics? That Luna Snow one didn’t seem adult enough to be for the hardcores, but it definitely wasn’t for the kids.
>>
>>153539750
They're the equivalent of licensed comics aka farts in the wind.
>>
>>153539779
Still more than nothing, though.
>>
>>153539361
Absolute is drawn like it's aimed at adults, but it's very childish. Liek dood it's so BAD A$$. What's the best word for this?
>>
Almost nothing from mainline big two are more adult than anything you get from a lot of manga aimed at teenagers.
Like you realize a lot of people read Chainsaw Man at like 11 or 12 years old, right? American rating standards just treat kids as retards.
>>
>>153539815
Being good
>>
>>153539907
Are you sure?
>>
>>153539794
I would argue it's exactly nothing.
>>
>>153539907
Oh they're not "adult" but they're written for adults (read manchildren).
>>

Is just that is not batmancentric like black Label pre-Vertigo relaunch so batfags seethe and try to hide It.
>>
>>153539361
Absolute Batman is aimed at teens who read manga.
>>
>>153539750
I think most adult super hero comics are really perfectly appropriate for teenagers, as much if not mores so than actual adults. Absolute Batman is good for teens, I don't really know that a comic deliberately targeting teens would be much different, it would probably be really cringe though.

>>153540556
>adult super hero comics
No such thing.
>>
>>153541171
Yea, fag
>>
>>153541171
Wrong, retard
>>
>>153541171
yes, that's basically anon's point. They're teenage level at best.

Triggered, capebabs?

>>153541560
No

Shut up, weak vermin
>>
>>153539361
Not at all. There are very few adult cape comics. Theyre all childish and written by Gen X and older millennial soibois who think children are all drop dead retarded.
>>
>>153542252
Nope, retard
>>
>>153539361
I have a problem with judging that being 46. I know the modern comics, unlike the 80s-90s one, would not have interested me. Non of my nephews or nieces reads any comics other then manga.
I think it is a combination of A modern US/western politics being at the core of the stories. And those things aren't very interesting outside of the western world. B often ugly art . C being so meta, that after three decades plus in comics, I still have to check and recheck things. D the style of linking books in to chain events needing to read (potentialy buy) ALL codex is just not a. And an optional E I think kids like stories that have an end. They don't like it when the codex they like ends, but they like the Idea of the story ending.

Here is my eastern europenis view on this topic.
>>
>>153542252
>There are very few adult cape comics
I can't think of any. Even the Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, and Peter Milligan stuff is for teenagers.

Name 10 that are “for adults”. Not teenagers but adults (meaning I’ll grant you AbsBat and AbsMM but not Superman or Wonder Woman) Between the big 2. They publish like 100 a month so 10 should be do-able.
>>
>>153541171
Most adults today aren't mentally adults. MCU ticket sales before they destroyed their golden goose show that.
>>
>>153542321
I don’t agree with this on the whole. They each wrote a mix. Moore’s Tom Strong is for kids, Swamp Thing and Promethea for adults. That’s not debatable.

And mind you I consider teenagers to be in the kid category.
>>
>>153542383
Nice cope.
>>
>>153539907
When was the last time you heard a 12 year old in Romania or Croatia go "I wonder what this weeks Superman comics is going to tell me about american politics, refugees(swarming in to their country) being the good guys , white people being bad or some race stuff, that makes no sense outside of western world".

Casual violance is not what makes comics for"adult" or "child" reader.
>>
>>153542424
Cute so do this: >>153542373

And we can discuss which comics you think are for kids. It would make for a better discussion if you name some and why you believe theyre for adults.
>>
>>153542396
You aren't denying it. In the 1950s adults never would've went to capeslop unless their kid was demanding it and they had to take them. Now adults tear up at the thought of Infinity War and Endgame. The mental age of the average adult has consistently declined. Something like the Absolute universe is definitely aimed at adults, even though it contains farcical messages like reading to an stone cold sociopath like Ra's could somehow turn him into a good person.
>>
>>153542458
Nobody cares about fags in the 50s, you are simply weak and stupid
>>
>>153542458
>Something like the Absolute universe is definitely aimed at adults
Not really. It’s more teen-geared than not. I guess you could make the case that MM is “adult”.
>>
>>153542445
Well it depends what we mean by "for kids". Is it books for small children? Well then you have Donald Duck super popular in the nordic countries. Is it stuff for teens? yes, some stuff like DC Absolut stuff, I think, could be and look fun to read. But that is just one sub brand of a limited number of hero comics. I think the ABatman can just be picked up and read, but not Superman or Wonder Woman. And back in the day there were a ton of books, both from DC/Marvel and smaller companies, that was just buy a comic and read it while waiting with your mom for a doctor appointment . I am not kidding myself that 80s and 90s were only full of best of the best stories. They were not. But they were fun to read, or even just flip over. How many books like that do we have now? I don't think it is majority or even a half of the books. And comics do have more stuff to compete with, then they had back in the day.

The Batman can be watched for "cool" fight sceens. Not that it doesn't have depth. But it is a big dude with an ax, fighting other big dudes. With occasional body horror added. You can even just flick through it and it is cool enough to feel fun. one of my nephews went through all of my, and he doesn't even read english. But Wonder Woman or Superman, not saying that they don't have cool art, fight sceens etc But they clearly expect you to either know about western politics (superman) or like/know of magic/greek myths(WW).
>>
>>153542628
> "cool" fight sceens.
Filtered

Well if you think a kid wants to read walls of text bubbles or brazilian soaps, be my guest. I can't speak for kids now, I can't speak for kids around the world. I know what kids liked in the 80s and 90s, and it was close to ladies in spandex and "dudes of various size hiting each other.
>>
>>153542725
Not what I meant.
>>
>>153542732
Well I take all the blame for this one me. As you may notice my english is below subpar. In Russia "filtered" has a specific meaning.

>>153542776
> Well I take all the blame for this one me.
That’s fine
> As you may notice my english is below subpar.
Not really

Got it

Ok so how about you humor us with a small experiment.
Look up a free comic reading website, look at the newest Superman title or any big Marvel or DC title from this year, and skim it and decide if it's content that older kids/teenagers would or wouldn't be interested in.
>>
>>153542776
Aree you the anon that made that thread about Metamorphos?
>>
>>153541171
Adult in the sense that the main target demographic they are selling their product too is adults
>>
>>153542725
Anon, we had access to porn.
Besides, comics with good writing and massive speech bubbles along with dynamic pictures are what drew us to comics.
>>
>>153542898
nah, not a single vein of artsy stuff in me. I am a consumer, not a creator.
>>

K.
>>
>>153542590
No no just a list will do. Name 10 comics for adults.

>But they clearly expect you to either know about western politics (superman)
Not true at all even if it is a soapbox for Aaron. This is like saying you need to know Japanese mythology to enjoy spirited away.

>or like/know of magic/greek myths(WW).
Nothing adult about this.
>>
Any time anyone says that younger folks read super hero comics I'm just very skeptical. What could possibly be in it for them? Almost all the major books presume knowledge going back decades and reference events long since past. Attempts to reach out to new readers inevitably end and merge into the normal universe like Ultimate Marvel did. Even Absolute DC ties into an event in the main DC universe with Darkseid.
