I liked Wonder Woman 1984. It's a cute, silly movie with great visuals and music. The plot is so dumb it reminds me of a silver age Wonder Woman comic.I love how when Steve is wished back to life, instead of just appearing, they do the plotline where he's hijacked some random dude's body. It's not even plot relevant at all, they just decided to fuck around.

Black Adam starts to expand things by showing ancient times and that magitech exists, but unfortunately goes on to squander the rest of its runtime.I liked the potential idea that since Black Adam, Doctor Fate and Hawkman were experienced in various ways any amount of magical or historical events could be alluded or elaborated through them going forward, so I get bringing them together but the execution not only didn't land, it never took off. Instead of being wise men whose every discussion is part lecture part chess game using DC's history, they bicker and slap at each other like senile men in a retirement home. It would be tolerable if it was one big, meaningful misunderstanding to show the tragedy of great potential being destroyed, but it drags and achieves nothing.I actually didn't dislike the kid heroes initially, but they don't factor into anything to even see a point of their inclusion in the end.Cyclone implying her origin story was torturous was interesting even if clumsy to casually drop, but it never plays into anything going forward. We don't see kidnapped kids being experimented on with the magitech for her to react violently and consider if Black Adam's right that evil must end or will just return worse.Atom Smasher needed to be more than a training wheels lovable loser cliche. If he was never going to carry his weight in a fight they should have needed him to deal with the science side of the Magitech, but he just bumbles about.Even if it wasn't going to be a great film the ingredients were there for it to at least start a fascinating series.

>>153544360It was already long dead, the only thing was this movie giving false hope that they were considering doing anything with Cavill as Superman. But that was already long behind them, they were already going into the Batgirl/Supergirl plans in a merged DCEU/Keaton universe before they ditched that in favor of the Gunn lead universe.

Aquaman 2 and the flash which got a suoerbowl advertisement had the full weight of wb begind it and they both did horribly.Mostly because the organic hype surrounding dc because of black adam was purposely poisoned. It was a hollywood vs the fans/consumers war. And hollywood lost.
