I decided to watch As Told by Ginger since I never watched it as a kid, and I was surprised about how good it actually was.

I normally don't like the Klasky Csupo stuff since even as a kid I thought Rocket Power and Rugrats to be boring as fuck and Tween Rugrats just good for fap material due to the girls.
But ATbG is genuinely good, The Boondocks for white tween girls. Nevertheless I always avoided it so I wouldn't be caught dead watching a show for girls.

After that I started watching more shows for girls like Pepper Ann, and Braceface (Not as good as ATbG imo) and while it can be recency bias as well as starting with high regarded stuff, but I've been enjoying myself a lot.

Then I asked some women my age about these shows... and no one watched them, they watched those shitty Dan Schneider series for girls or didn't watch shows at all (rather actually starting their social life).
Why are people making kino for girls if girls seem to avoid kino altogether?

Are there any good shows/episodes originally ignored for being/being marketed for girls?

It's fucking excellent. There wasn't really anything else like it at the time. A true down to Earth teen slice of life show. Pepper Ann is good too, but Ginger really was in a class if its own. You could even say it still is.

It's really a shame the art style is so ugly at a glance. You get used to it pretty fast and it ends up filtering a lot of people. I don't mean that as an insult like it gets used so much nowadays, I mean it understandably prevents a lot of people from considering it worth watching. It's really a great show and I think its a shame it had so little impact because of that aesthetic decision.

They should've made the cast hotter so it would have survived on R34
Specially since they did in fact grow older and the cast got bigger slightly bigger tits in the last season.
Imagine an episode where Courtney has to deal with being hit a freaking puberty freight train.

Nah, she’s already vain, popular, and conventionally attractive
Now put MACIE in that scenario and you’ve got something
Nigga why you doing that?

Lou! was also good, although I don't remember much, I remember enough to hide to watch it, but desu, it was probably mostly because of the artstyle, is so cute and clean.

I want to protect Lou so bad, bros

Lou was a really cute show and her mom was absolutely smoking. It's a shame the comics they're based on turn into a bit of a depressing wreck pretty much exactly after the point the show ended. I don't mean "wreck" as in the comics themselves are bad, I mean everything goes pretty bad for almost everyone involved.

It's a franco-belgian comic.
I don't know what you expected, it was that or loli porn.

Braceface has some decent stories but Sharon is such a cunt it's hard to care about her.

This did remind me off Trollz.
Now Trollz I do remember never wanting to be caught watching it because it was very much a a girl's show, but at the same time watching a ton of it, because as far as I remember Trollz might've been one of the first animations I had ever watched to have a plot that becomes darker and more focused as it goes on, with lore to boot.
I don't remember the actual lore, or how good or original it was, but it was a noticeable jump in required attention span coming from The Fairly Oddparents to this.
This, I kid you not, may have kickstarted my taste for actually good stories, even if probably it was mediocre itself.
