I watched this recently for the first time and I was so fucking disappointed.There were some good parts - the quiet bits where Ramses and Moses were talking and you realized how their paths diverged. That was good.But most of it was a slog. They goofed a little too much to make it a grand serious epic, and attempted too much melodrama to make it entertaining. It seems to bother only me when people call this one of the best Moses retellings of all time and it basically removes Aaron entirely, except for a few lines where he's a naysayer. Aaron's pretty fucking important to the story of Moses especially when regarding the Golden Calf later and how it's much more impactful since Aaron was a voice for God, so to remove him from the story is like removing Mary Magdalene from Jesus' story.

They both end on a sad note where they both have to do 2 leap of faiths involving water and both involve having to give up on riches. Atlantis felt better with the finale in that regard. (Atlantis also would have been better if it was a 3 hour movie like Lord of the Rings part 1) and did something more entertaining with the tribesmen like El Dorado or ignored them and focused on something else ... as it is Atlantis feels like Stargate pacing and quality wise.
Prince of Egypt has jokes, but it's not a comedy. Of course it's not going to be as funny as Shrek.
