Why was judge doom so obsessed with a freeway anyways? Genociding his own kind just for money??? He's so cartoonishly ev- Oh...
>>
>>153561720
it was just a elaborate excuse to kill all these cartoons and get away with it
>>
He's a Kapo
>>
>>153561720
would have been funny if mickey mouse was a secret investor in clover leaf, considering the construction and business of Disneyland would have benefited immensely from the freeway. And all the Disney toons would be suspiciously absent from toontown just prior to judge doom flooding it with dip
>>
>>153561720
I love that Doom's stated motivation for his plan before the big reveal is genuinely retarded, like literally everyone thinks it's completely stupid that he's putting that much effort into a fucking freeway of all things. It really is a huge clue towards his true identity.
>>
>>153561720
He thought it was funny.
>>
>>153562262
The freeway isn’t his idea, that’s the city council’s, it’s happening no matter what. Doom wants to dip Toontown so that he can build a bunch of businesses on the land and profit off of them.

those blasted traumatic injuries

The only reason you need to deliberately make the world a worse place and spread death and destruction is "Because." Not "Because I can." Not "Because it's fun." Not even "Because it's profitable." Just "Because." Evil should be committed for its own sake. The ideal state of being is something like a mindless robot that constantly runs the following plan:
>10 DO EVIL
>20 LAUGH
>30 GOTO 10

A big reason why freeways were built was for military purposes. If the US had to send tanks or aid vehicles from one area of the US to the next, a freeway was useful in doing so.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit takes place in 1947. Shortly after WW2 and during the Cold War. So this was a real concern for the US, that military resources would need to travel the country quickly.

And pic kind of related. Guile is in the military.

A thought just occurred. Why does Judge Doom conceal his cartoon eye after slipping on the gag eyeballs? Obviously for movie purposes they wanted to save the twist reveal, but the implications of adding this detail are interesting considering he was going to have Eddie killed anyways

Dysphoria
>>
>>153567430
I assume he likely figured the weasels were gonna fuck up somehow. He doesn’t seem all that surprised to find them gone when he returns. Though it does make you wonder, how long does it really take to put in a fake eyeball?
>>
>>153570979
>how long does it really take to put in a fake eyeball?
You'd think it'd be easy for a toon. Maybe Judge Doom was so evil that he actually wanted to watch Eddie kill his own henchmen, since he already assumed his plan was a success. A "one less loose end" style betrayal, if you will
>>
>>153567430
Maybe he was a self-hating toon who despised everything about his true nature. After all, he only truly reveals himself after he's been flattened by the steamroller, at which point it's impossible to keep pretending in front of Eddie.

>mfw i realize Michael Jackson is Judge Doom
>>
>>153561720
What if he was a self loather that hated being a toon and wanted all wacky comedy toons to fucking die?
>>
>>153562905
Didn't the movie point this fact out near the beginning?
>>
>>153561720
This movie suggests that when the interstate highways that plowed through working-class black neighborhoods, it was actually planned by secret blacks.

>Why was judge doom so obsessed with a freeway anyways?
You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.

Soon, where Toontown once stood will be a string of gas stations, inexpensive motels, restaurants that serve rapidly prepared food. Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful.

I thought Roger Rabbit beat them to the punch with fundamentally the same evil scheme and killed that iteration of Chinatown 2.
>>
>>153561770
Based beyond belief.

Is judge doom a certified schizocore villain?
>>

Now how’s that?

Even little kids are smart enough to know Looney Tunes characters never die no matter what so introducing "the dip" to up the ante and be like "NO THIS WILL ACTUALLY FUCKING KILL THEM FOR REAL" was a stroke of genius.

A character like Coyote could have a bomb go off on them, Daffy Duck get a shotgun shoot them point blank in the face. None of that is as threatening as "the dip" from Roger Rabbit.
>>
>>153580933
I like that they decided the way to permanently kill a cartoon is just paint thinner
>>
>>153561720
he got crazy eyes
>>
>>153562262
The joke went over your head. This is old LA. The freeway eventually happened. Car culture was just beyond the heads of the average 1940s LA resident.
>>
>>153561720
Whoa... talk about a scorched-earth thread.
>>
>>153583587
Not scorched...

The conversation was over anyway.
>>
>>153580933
Shoe deserved it.
>>
>>153583874
He should at least spare the waifu Toons.
>>
>>153580933
Maybe if the shoe had kicked Eddie in the balls instead of a cop, Doom would have spared it. He lets Jessica get away with slapping Eddie, after all, probably because he thought it was funny.
>>
>>153581043
Which is itself another stroke of genius. Seriously, paint thinner is the one genuinely logical thing that could stop an animated character in their tracks.
>>
>>153589079
Judge Doom truly is an intelligent character.

>all the Disney toons would be suspiciously absent from toontown just prior to judge doom flooding it with dip
he would even take advantage of all the situation and get rid of some of the useless toons from the company

My on topic comment about 1900s development projects killing the streetcars in Roger Rabbit was also deleted for being off topic despite having 2 direct references to scenes in Roger Rabbit, jannies either took issue with the whole convo happening or failed to read it

Every time I see Judge Doom I think about how we were so close to getting a female version of one in Skullgirls. The only remnant of what she was supposed to be is her saying his phrase "LIKE THIS" and her peacock eyes turning into daggers.
