Why was this movie such a pleasant watch, and what made it so underrated in comparison to other Disney animated films of the time?

Dunno, but I watched it after playing the prequel videogame
>>
>>153569440
it was what Fnatastric 4 first steps failed at
>>
It’s very earnest and free of a lot of the typical kiddie-Ian’s of CGI movies around this time. Feels like the creators were free to make this movie without much interference
>>

I didn't care for it

On the development side is was the opposite actually. Ther are articles detailing the history of this film and nah it was one of those development hell kind of films https://www.slashfilm.com/1150415/meet-the-robinsons-at-15-an-oral-history-of-disneys-underrated-gem/
But you did have the filmmakers REALLLY give a shit though all the way through the hell, and Lasseter's suggestions did end up helping the film.
Also speaking on the content itself there is value when a storyteller is genuinely trying to pass a message or lesson along to the viewer. Like writers always praise subtle writing and allegory or whatver and thats fine and all when it works but sometimes just SAYING THE BLOODY THING and believing in that message with all your heart works sometimes too. Like every time I see people discuss this film I always see the phrase "This film had something to say/This film actually teaches you something" in some shape or form and sometimes people need that. Even when people hate on this film they never knock the film for doing that. inb4 contrarian replies yada yada
Like Im reminded of this fucking bitch who has done a shit ton of fan anamatics of this film

>>
same with Chicken Little
>>
The whole "Keep moving forward" felt like an attempt to use Walts own words to justify the switch over to 3d.

I mean with the way the actual history of how these films played out its hard to read it as anything more then an actual genuine apology from the studio itself. Home On The Range was the original sacrificial lamb of 2D box office failure that justified Chicken Run, but then that was just a genuine piece of shit so then you had Meet The Robinsons and then we got two solid 2D movies right after(with Princess and The Frog again being treated as the sacrificial lamb) until the next transition with Tangled

A good message...

I enjoyed the movie. It's very re-watchable - which is the key metric in my mind. I didn't think Bolt was bad but I can't re-watch it. I thought Legion of Super Pets was annoying and pretty awful and you couldn't pay me good money to sit through it again.

Robinsons, like The Iron Giant, or like Coroline, or Fantastic Mr. Fox, is highly re-watchable. Coroline had an anniversary re-release in theatrical and it was totally worth the payment to get and see it in a huge screen, in 3D with a crowd of likewise fans. Ditto the anniversary re-release of The Iron Giant via Fathom - even if overpriced - was totally worthwhile.

Robinson and Fantastic Mr. Fox - and a few others - could get this same treatment and deserve it.

Goob getting adopted is kino.
I also love the fanart that has him still keep his Bowler Hat Guy appearance in the future but now as a professional Baseball player.

Meet The Robinsons should have been a tv show, that large cast of characters needs more room to shine.

Unfortunately, the window for either has passed...

Why'd they name him something as dorky as WILBUR??
>>
>>153569440

This movie is highly satanic because it promotes the false religion of science
