>>153573873>extended golden ageNo such thing.
>>153573907it's 1-12, chud
>>1535739162-8 and that's final.
Is this an AI post or something?
>Alt Universe where Ronald Reagan won two Non-Consecutive Terms
okay
>>153573916>>153573927You mean 1-11
>>153573951What would've happened if Mike Wegman was around when Frank Grimes was hired?
>>1535739273-8 is golden age2-9 is classic era1-12 is extended classic era
Haven't watched the show in over a decade but surely there must be a few good ones here and there since.Right?
>>153574825Short answer yesLong answer no
Series should have ended on Frank Grimes, there was nowhere left to go after that
>>153574825Really? A decade?
>>153575219Wrong.
>>153573927It's 1-9, poser
>>153574425What happened with 13?
>>153580369wasnt as good :-/
>>153580369Nothing specifically. Everyone knows (as evidenced by the need to create terms like "extended golden age") there wasn't any one season or episode where it turned to shit. It was a gradual process. It would make more sense to use the term silver age.
>>153580369Season 12 had the last episode that received general critical praise - Trilogy of Error. Season 13 has no equivalent for that. Although I'd personally say the rest of season 12 was so shit that including it for a single episode is a bit of a reach.
>>153574825Over 20 years for me
>>153574825The Treehouse of Horror from two seasons ago had a really neat segment where Sideshow Bob kills Bart in Cape Feare and it changes the timeline. It was sandwiched between a segment where "Bart gets uploaded to the blockchain" and one where Homer zombies turn everyone into Homer by belching.I feel that's a pretty accurate metaphor for modern Simpsons.
>>153580369I thought it was fine, 14 is considerably worse
>>153574825The general consensus is that if you took all the good episodes from about season 15 on and ran them back to back, you'd have about 1 season's worth of content. Keep in mind that the show is currently on season 37. So over the course of 23 seasons you have about 1 classic Simpson season's worth of good episodes. Not great, good.
>we're seeing in real-time Simpsons fans gradually inch closer and closer to saying "the show didn't get bad until Season 21"
