Post characters that are carried almost entirely by their designs/aesthetics rather than an actual interesting personality
>>153576576How can you make her interesting, dough?
>>153576654Make her a slut that hops on a different NPC each episode
>>153576649did she ever appear again in hazbin
>>153576654Give her an actual personality.
>>153577535exactly
>>153576576So was Pomni the marketable "safe" character since it seems like Jax is basically the main character at this point.
>>153576576
>>153578516pretty much
>>153576576Im gonna be real: most /co/ characters. A lot of them aren’t really deep enough to be liked solely on their personality.Hell, most video game characters fall into this category too. I think it’s fair to say that an appealing and interesting character design is more important than a good or well written personality if you’re actually trying to “make it” in the entertainment industry.
>>153578565where did you find this photo of me?
>>153579353I think that's just an example of the medium is the message. It's no wonder that the most deeply written characters. come from prose literature, but at the same time most prose literature doesn't exactly have the most striking designs since it's kind of difficult to describe the visuals without wasting the reader's time if one isn't a skilled enough writer. In fact, being too descriptive is kind of associated with bad writing and the vagueness of a design is kind off the appeal so that the reader can fill in the blanks with their imagination. It's also why when adapting a prose character to a visual medium A lot of their personality and character traits get lopped off in the process most of the time.
>>153578516Pomni is the audience stand-in, it's why she's so bland. Jax is the real main character since his problems are the most center-focused, so "we" or "Pomni" are meant to care about Jax even if someone like Gangle or Kinger have more pressing issues like being depressed to point of becoming suicidal or being incredibly schizophrenic after surviving everyone else getting abstractedIf Jax weren't the real main character Pomni wouldn't try so hard to save him since then he'd just be an even bigger stand-offish asshole pretending everyone's just a side character in his cartoon show
>>153576576Pomni is oh so CUTE!!
>>153578516>>153580783wait Pomni isn't the focus? and that piece of shit Jax is? lost my interest, I only watched the pilot and was waiting for it to end before watching the rest
>>153583226>wait Pomni isn't the focusI thought at the very least it would be an ensemble with pomni more as the lead, but by ep 5 it's mainly Jax
>>153583619Pomni is always the central focus, it's not Jax at all. He's just the guy with the most going on in his head.
>>153578565i don't know what to say
>>153576654Maybe an interesting backstory that isn't "my life was boring"
>>153583767don't bother, /co/ lives in it's own little retarded world
>>153583767Almost every other Player in the Circus and their story gets handled weirdly>Ragatha shares an episode with Jax but it feels more Jax centric and her reconciling with Pomni was off-screened>Zooble's whole issue with her whole body feels sidelined, she shares an episode with Kinger and it's the weaker B-plot and when she does find something good about her body it also seems off-screened>Kinger reveals to Pomni that he's mentally sane when in the dark and instead of telling everyone this Pomni tells everyone Kinger had a wife, that's like having a dementia grandpa with simple requirement to get him lucid again but deciding to tell everyone some by comparison inconsequential lore about him to everyone insteadGangle is the only other one with a story that doesn't feel like it's completely fucked
>>153579353> Hell, most video game characters fall into this category tooThat’s fine because the main appeal is the gameplay
