>called Iredeemable
>is redeemed in the end
What did Mark Waid mean by this?
>>
>>153581404
Waid is a hack who basically spends the whole comic jacking off the villain. The ending of making him the inspiration for superman in real life was the most self-mastubatory thing I've ever seen.
>>
>>153581404
Probably something related to all the issues before where he was doing acts mant would consider hard or impossible to redeem.
Sinking Singapore was my favorite. I got Mark to sign that page in my copy.
>>
>>153581404
i liked it when he got raped by the fag tech guy
>>
It's a fucking time loop.
>the Plutonian is broken down into his pure essence and scattered throughout time and space
>part of his essence inspires Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster to create Superman
>because of this, the Plutonian has inherently corrupted Superman with the potential to go completely batshit insane from the moment of his conception, just as Plutonian himself was inherently corrupted since his own "conception"
>this leads to a billion fucking "what if Superman was... LE EVIL?" stories and a bunch of Superman copies who are just as flawed as their conceptual grandfather, if not as straight up evil as him
>this includes Irredeemable and the Plutonian himself, who has now pretty much become his own grandpa (but without the fun part)
>>
>>153581466
"The potential to go completely batshit insane"?
"Inherantly corrupted"??
How the fuck was "he was doomed to go nuts it was in his very essence" the takeaway from the comic
>>
>>153581485
the story just stops making sense when he goes to the asylum star thing
he's based on an insane woman who killed her child

The plutonian runs on a mix of autism and goatfucker logic and believes no matter how much good he does, fucking up once made him a monster forever so he might as well roll with it.

Literaly me after I got grounded in middle school 20 years ago
>>
>>153581493
Admitted yeah I was losing interest in the later part of the series around the space prisonyard where he was living in a fantasy world.
Mostly cause he seemed less like broken man lashing out in the cruelest ways he could, but he started to seem like just a smug asshole who wanted to do bad things.

His issues were how he was raised, not what he was based on. Unless you just mean the very idea of any human with this much power would have to live with impossible demands of perfection.
>>
>>153581497
I mean that was how everyone treated him for decades, so its not wrong to believe something everyone around you seems to prove to be true.
>>
>>153581538
He needed a thicker skin. There are always naysayers
>>
>>153581404
>What did Mark Waid mean by this?
he probably was thinking "they'll never see it coming !"
>>
>>153581404
Mark Waid is a hack.

so this never ended up happening seemingly
>>

It’s a very comic booky comic book. Doesn’t fit the small screen
>>
>>153581998
>It’s a very comic booky comic book.
what does that even mean
>>
>>153581998
It would work as a cartoon or anime
>>
>>153581485
The idea of "a man to keep us safe" was tainted from the very beginning. Superman begat Plutonian, Plutonian begat Superman.
>>
>>153581998
>>153582010
>looks like ass
>literally every character in it is an expy and the entire premise is based on subverting common tropes employed in their normal books
>has a lot of weird melodrama in it involving characters nobody cares about
it's impossible to adapt. invincible at least looks good
>>
>>153581735
Dude had entire adopted families abandon him and spend the rest of their lives talk by writing to avoid him so hard, all because they were scared of him and he accidently put 1 milligram of superpressure on his baby brother's head.
There ain't skin thick enough to not have that emotionally effect you.

Mentioned this example before in a previous thread, but imagine that if every time you sneezed or yawned you had to tense your body to hold it in as best you can or you exploded someone's head nwarby.
30+ years and if ever a slipup where it did happen, it would be all people would talk about with you. 10million times handled undone by the 1 time it is accidently let through.
>>
>>153581926
I mean production takes time could still be worked on.

Personally I have doubts because I think it would be best handled animated, because I don't think live action special effects can pull off some of the feats as well.

>called irreeedamable
>archnemesis is indian
what did Raimi mean by this???
>>
>>153582156
Fuck you. If trash like Invincible and The Boys can get adaptations, why not a comic with a better story and characters?
>>
>>153582374
>better story
>OH WOW WHAT IF BATMAN REALLY HAD TO DEFEAT AN ALIEN INVASION WITH NO SUPERPOWERS
>OH WHAT IF SUPERMAN WAS...LE BAD!!!
>OH WHAT IF LEX LUTHOR WAS OBSESSED WITH SUPERMAN BECAUSE HE WAS GAY FOR HIM
>better characters
>the justice league
lol
>>
>>153582374
>better
No
>>
>>153582420
Yes. It is. Compare to The Boys
>OH WOW WHAT IF EVERY MALE SUPERHERO WAS AN ICKY RAPIST
>OH WHAT IF CAPTAIN AMERICA WAS A PROPAGANDA TOOL ONLY
>OH WHAT IF SUPERMAN AT A BABY
The whole time Ennis is pissing on your leg because he thinks it's funny.
>>
>>153582500
>muh boys
oh, ok. i guess irredeemable could get an adaptation where they change absolutely fucking everything about it. i will agree that irredeemable is better than the boys, even though i doubt they'd allow a sidekick character called jailbait
>>
>>153582318
this nigga dies before the series begins then gets possessed by gay lex luthor
>>
>>153581408
When I read it, at the time I thought it was cool linking him to Superman, but in hindsight, you're right. Saying your OC is the reason Superman exist is pretty childish.
>>
>>153581404
>What did Mark Waid mean by this?
That ur a fagget and u want me to press my pp on your lips
>>
>>153581404
None is truly irredeemable in the eyes of the Lord.
>>
>>153582172
It's falling down in superhero form, the message is that society's perpetual ingratitude has consequences
>>
>>153583280
Wouldn't say 1for1, but close enough.
>>
>>153581404
.....Man of Steel REALLY fucked up a generation of boomers huh?
>>
>>153582374
>Invincible and The Boys
Both are better than Irredeemable.
>>
>>153583791
No
>>
>>153581404
Mark Waid meant that everything is possible through the power of Jesus Christ.
>>
>>153581404
This is the better evil superman story
>>
>>153584520
Yes
>>153584681
No
