>got the entire Tintin animated series on DVD for basically no moneyKino has reached absurd heights in my home.
>>153584029Tell us how it goes later and if it truly was kino.
>>153584029I'm surprised they haven't made edited versions removing references to Zionist terrorists, Chinese opium addicts and so forth
>>153584029Good on ya, anon
>>153584029the music is way too repetitive. the series would be greatly improved by cutting much of the music, or at least mixing it lower.
>>153586102Zionist terrorists? In one of the middle east albums?
>>153586102>>153588493>In the original versions of Land of Black Gold, published in 1939 and 1948, Tintin arrived at Haifa in the British Mandate of Palestine, where he was arrested by British police before being captured by members of the Irgun, a Zionist terrorist organization, who mistake him for one of their own agents (named "Finkelstein" in the first version, "Salomon Goldstein" in the second), before being abducted by a henchman of Bab El Ehr.>in 1971 his British publishers at that time, Methuen, suggested that alterations be made to Land of Black Gold before releasing it into the UK market>The inclusion of forces from the British Palestinian Mandate and the Irgun were no longer seen as relevant and thus were removed from the story
>>153588707Fascinating! Thanks for sharing. I do know of the more famous examples such as the entirety of Tintin In Congo and the Shooting Star having alterations made but never of this.
>>153588707Just skimmed through the version on Readcomicsonline and yeah, quite the change, just removing it entirely and the methods. I want to get a copy of this version now just to read it.

i like how the one where they go to space and almost die going back to earth because of the rockets running out of fuel and oxygen.its a realistic touch.what I like about tintin is the fact that they show adults making adult mistakes and paying for the consequences such as gambling and drinking.
I'd love to have the albums in physical
Go Tintin
>>153584029whered ya get it
>>153584029The Adventures of Limey Ginger
>>153584029Hey that's awesome!
>>153588707It's amazing how often Tintin was censored.
