the impressive thing isn't that they did a Twin Peaks homage, it's that they hired the actor who played that character
Casting Udo Kier was fucking amazing
Drawing the previous Mystery Inc cast as actual copies of the cast of Dobie Gillis was sharp af considering HB had gotten away with making expies of them the first time
Did not care for the ending because among other things it was going to have them re-encounter all the original series "monsters" on their needless road trip and it undid all the stakes preceding it
The Hex Girls redesign was a fucking hate crime

The ending of them killing the villain with the literal power of friendship and undoing all the consequences of the series really sucked. It was basically the same of Garvity Falls, except GF at least took time to set up the method they used to beat the villain.

When I was watching the show as a kid I felt it was trying too hard.
Like, at first I was invested, but as the show went on I just stopped caring. I think I switched the channel when I was in the middle of the finale because I thought it was kinda lame.
I don't think Scooby Doo is a good series for genuine character drama, and I think there's a limit on how big the mystery can be for it to fit in.

But this is probably just me, I know people generally liked that show.
