Reading the older comics it's pretty neat seeing various stories which would later become animated shorts. There was not even a car in the story version.
>>
Did Disney ever have a channel in the US dedicated to airing these old shorts? I never watched the Disney channels growing up and I feel like I might have missed out.

Kinda funny to me Donald and Donna have a happier ending than what happens in the short. The unicycle was cute.

Donna who?
>>

Donna Duck, she's proto-Daisy but is treated overall as a separate character for practical purposes

Ah, okay. I oughta brush up on my Donald/Daisy Duck lore

that's not how trademarks work, you'll be able to use him, you'll just be slightly limited. the bigger issue is moreso that all the things donald is famous for were introduced like a decade after his debut, so you'll have to wait for them to be PD

>The only recent victory for the public domain is Sherlock Holmes finally being entirely free to use because all his original books had their rights expire
Multiple projects have used Winnie-The-Pooh freely, despite that being Disney's 2nd biggest money maker. It's fine.
