Should more emphasis be placed on Krypton? Or should they go back to Superman's roots and just ignore it?Personally as a Supermanfag I get annoyed when people try to push the last survivor of Krypton only to reveal several other krytpotonians. Kandor and Supergirl stretch it a little by being from Krypton's moons. But when you have Zod or Faora or even Krypto running around and you still try to push the last son of Kyrpton bit... its outdated
>>153596748Just give Superman records of Krypton’s history
Because nearly everyone who comes from krypton is evil or cold its important for Kal to put more emphasis on beung raised on earth. or at least using his kryptonian tech/powers to benefit mankind over upholding the legacy of a dead planet
Fewer than a dozen survivors is still a significantly tiny amount compared to the population of an entire planet.
>>153596748>go back to Superman's roots and just ignore it?Read Pre-Crisis Superman, not just Byrne.
>>153597039Siegel and Shuster didn't touch on Krypton beyond beyond a single panel in the origin story in his first few years. 100% focused on his present day life as an adult. Jor-El and Lara weren't even named or had an on-panel appearance until 1945 when they started doing Superboy.
Kandor and the Phantom Zone are essential core. Maybe could do without shrinking to enter Kandor and their worshipping, but it is tight as hell that Jor-El's other legacy is just as toxic as the actual shards of the planet.
>>153596748Superman should be allowed to end already.
>>153596748>Russian Zod>Matrix SupergirlAt that point I'd rather just ditch the "Last Son of Krypton" shit.
I don't really mind Supergirl and Zod or the Daxamites or Kandor or whatever. I think the "Last Son of Krypton" title is more symbolic now anyway because he's like a good person or whatever and that's the legacy of Krypton that Jor-El would have wanted.I liked the Gunn movie but making Jor-El and Lara evil never really made sense to me. I thought it should have been a fake from Luthor to frame Superman. He could even get away with it in the end, like an "Even though you put me in jail I still got one over on you" kinda deal.
>>153597926He did end in 1985 and 2011 but they keep a new version going, sometimes bringing back continuity from the old versions.
>>153596748I don't think it works too well since he has no direct connection to Krypton, all that shit happened when he was a baby. Kinda hard to sell the tragedy of it. I get why you'd want to since it gives him some tragedy and depth but it's like, bro that shit when you were was 2 days old or something how much can you really care?
>>153598079Pretty much nailed my thoughts on it.
Phantom Zone would would if they made the guys stuck there different and actually made Zod actually scary and not just evil Superman or as a didn't do button like Geoff Johns did.Zod should be like Hannibal Lecter; a smart intellectual military genius who doesn't get his hands dirty and who's at his scariest inside the Phantom Zone, mocking Clark and taunting him over his failures and how humanity needs to be ruled by a tyrant if they ever hope to survive long enough to reach Krypton level technology and culturally
Krypton should be emphasized more in Supergirl stories as her growing up with Krypton and Clark not is the main gulf between the two. That in turn should make Clark want to know more about Krypton so that he can better understand and emphasize with her.
