Small cosplay update, I only had an hour before work here and there. I figured out the changes to my suit pattern by folding/taping/pinning the fabric until it was what I had in mind, which is:>button placement of a single button at my waist>making the lapel flare out more (angle + more fabric) >making the lower hem expose my crotch (wtf Caine) and flare out into the swallowtails >adding more butt to balance the head; just making sure I have a little extra fabric to accomodate some tweaks, such as darts I'll sew into the back piece to narrow it down. I then pressed those folds to mark the fabric, added 1/2 inch of seam allowance, trimmed the excess fabric and altered the pattern pieces (which look like a complete mess at this point, so I'll eventually trace them on nicer paper for archival purposes/future reference for other suits). Still not done working out the swallowtails, but I'll be stuck at work today, too.
