I do think it's odd how Pauline looks fine I'm both meanings but then the Odyssey humans are just realistic and borderline alien to the setting even compared to the actual aliens in the setting. I think a good example of being stylistically jarring in the same game is the Ruined Dragon since that's just a great design and is beautifully out of place in Mario. Though it's a bit easier to say what's stylistically jarring in Mario then Sonic cause Sonic has so many characters that look completely like they are from another franchise in either the games or adaptions.
