Because a TV show is dependent on ratings and if ratings are good, suits don't want to end the gravy train until it doesn't make enough money, so instead of adapting the comics 1:1 (which means you end up running out of content, especially if you're forced to cut out the 'shock' scenes) you end up going way off point in order to not end the show yet.End of the day, suits don't give a fuck. It's why Invincible misses and changes loads of stuff. The suits go>TV audiences won't like X and would prefer YSo it gets changed. Remember, if 1 million people read the comic, the suits want 10 million people watching the show every week, so you make changes to get those numbers. It sucks, but that's the way it is. Same reason the Amazon 40k show is going to suck, Cavill being the 'lorekeeper' with actual creative control and power now won't stop suits stepping in (and it's not like they listened to Cavill during Witcher production, either, not that he was a producer then).
