What did you think about the comics? Did it live up to the show? How does it compare to standard DC Superman?
>>
Also how come this is probably the best version of Lex Luthor ever made?

I'd say Lex Luthor: Man of Steel is also an amazing version

Remake when?
>>
>>153612433
That is good.
>>
>>153612144
Never got to really read it, all I remember about it was that it had the worst Batman design in comic history.
>>
>>153613599
More like...realistic Batman
>>
>>153613599
Why was Stephanie Brown replaced again?
>>
>>153614405
Wasn't interesting enough
>>
>>153614405
Part of the weird soft-embargo they had on using her after her Batgirl run ended. Not sure about the exact details though.
>>
>>153613599
Honestly Batman holds no candle to the might of Lex Luthor!
>>
Would anon be interested in a Smallville storytime?
>>
>>153616968
I would

I'll see if I can start in 10 hours

>Did it live up to the show?
In some ways, it was better than a lot of show episodes, in that it was tighter and didn't have to use cheap EFX, etc. It was also more broadly set in the DCU, so many people that never appeared on the show but are regular guest stars - at least over the decades - in Superman books, popped in. The one problem was the need to wrap up and put bows on things and do show-related fan service. No one really needed to know or actually cared about what was going on with the Smallville Lana - unlike the canon mainline DCU Lana Lang, she should have just disappeared and never been seen or heard from again as just one example.

>How does it compare to standard DC Superman?
It's actually pretty close but again hews to the Smallville mythos (so Tess Luthor is a thing that exists, Chloe is a thing that exists and she's married to Ollie here, even though IIRC, Dinah later shows up and cameos?).

It was a fun, breezy read. If you never saw the show and don't intend to, it might still be entertaining but you would be lost in some places.

You are lucky it was Sunday night because this thread was almost about to die four hours ago until one bump prevented it.

I also think you should do at least the first trade. And definitely do the trades, not the digital only comic half pages.

Rosenbaum and Welling have been pushing an animated continuation for a while now. Since Millar and Gough are actually hot again with Wednesday and Rosenbaum is butt buddies with Gunn, they really should pitch someone on coughing up a few hundred thousand to work on a short 10 or so minutes at least demo level, proof of concept bit, with dialogue, etc. so that they can actual pitch and just stop fucking talking about it on Rosenbaum's pod or at Cons.

WB should also re-release the box set, it's now FINALLY off only streaming via Hulu and available globally on Netflix, so they should be shilling the hell out of it and make it popular again. If fucking Suits could manage it, so can Smallville.

And then WB can re-released the trades, and then do a six or ten or twelve issue mini-series update of the comics a decade after they ended.

jeez this art is really bad, those faces

>Artist doesn't even bother to make them look like their Smallville selves
>Just draws normal Supes and Lex
Why does this always happen

I hope they do, I mean the series was one of the best versions of Superman. It has SOVL
As a troubled teenager I really liked Clark's story but as an adult, I appreciate Lionel and Lex's feud far more

Not the worst, but it is pretty bad. Would he been cool on screen I bet though.

>>153612144
I liked it when they showed them in the Flash show and he was happy just living his life as a farmer with Lois. He deserves to be happy.
>>
>>153624153
I still don't understand why having such high caliber actors they didn't place them in the DCEU
>>
>>153612144
Zatanna didn't get brutalized enough

It felt like character regression but the kind I can't be mad about because he constantly did that

Always found it funny he traced a Hot Toys promo image

It felt like the circle was closed. He didn’t need to be Superman anymore, his world was safe.

Clark is fucking hot and makes me tingly + horny
Also Tina and Lana should be in an abusive manipulative lesbian relationship together

I would not be against it
