I get it, they did the same thing they did in the series finale where it's 1 30 minute special, but halfway in part of the episode is showing a title card (like the power in the finale), but it ended up confusing everyone into thinking they were 2 seperate episodes, and now there's 2 regular show episodes called "the power" and people think that's the name of the final episodejg said he had to convince cn to let him do this and it was a different format than they'd ever done before, but it was just like the finale.

The Margaret and Eileen episode was cute. Obviously some weird shit happens because that's the show, but it was nice to see them working together and tackling a problem without bickering or being complete screw-ups like Mordecai and Rigby do. They wouldn't have had to drag all of those trash bags and build a hovercraft if they hadn't been screwing around and done the job right the first time. With Margaret and Eileen it wasn't just their attitudes that were inverted from the norm but the situation, where the problem was external in the form of Valencia immediately/effortlessly taking all of their business with her trendy food. Also, they did have differing ways of doing things, with Margret being open and friendly while Eileen was suspicious, and having different approaches to disguising themselves when they went to scope out the place. Between the two, I think Skips' Luau was a funnier episode than Coffee Shop Wars, but considering the show has over 200 episodes it's just nice to see them switch up the formula a little is all.

I wouldn't want this turning into a poor imitation like Pickle and Peanut or something, you know? Even though a lot of the crew is back, it feels like people are trying to recreate something incorrectly.

So what is the consensus till now? I watched some clips and while some animation hits look a tad strange, i think it looks as funny and good as regular regular show
for how dramatic of a getaway pop had to do with some stashed secret tapes it makes it stand out even more that these extra episodes are just kinda nothing>mordecai and rigby like, want burgers, but they get stuck taking out the trash, so they get hovercraft blueprints and muscle man builds a hovercraft and they get shot at for being aliens and benson has a failed crush for 5 seconds>the girls, like, have a typical adventure about food gods>boba??You'd think the secrecy and drama revolving around these tapes would make their content more special. These just feel like half-baked ideas. Though apparently they're going to try and toss in some extra "backstory" episodes for the cast but judging from the Nap Spot one, that doesn't look good.Also if what that anon said is true why give us backstory episodes for versions of these characters that aren't ours?

They fucked up a "deliberately confusing punctuation" gag by having normal punctuation. Literally just remove the exclamation point after hovercraft and it'd have worked alright.

I've noticed some people on the crew are trying to utilize more direct shots of the characters, it used to be more rare or under a specific circumstance, you wouldn't expect it just from a typical "do it or you're fired" moment. Not really a complaint, generally speaking it's good to not limit the show to that 3/4th angle as much, even though the results vary (mordecai's just supposed to have a teardrop head front-on), just another one of those little differences from how the OG handled itself.

At least the Phineas and Ferb revival was preceded by Hamster & Gretel and that Disney+ midquel movie that was "good enough" but still felt limited in some areas.
