Was N52 JL actually good? I personally think that while the New Gods stuff are dumbed down but enjoyable superhero blockbuster stories, the rest of it really drags down. Forever Evil was trash. Grail was embarrassing. It doesn't even end properly and it feeds into the next forgettable run. I'd go as far to say that despite the powerwanking, N52 and onwards JL feels less and less blockbuster as time goes on. The JLA run from Morrison and onwards felt truly widescreen. By the time N52 rolled around it was just another capebook. Same goes with Superman. In fact, I'd say even Morrison's Action Comics was very dumbed down compared to his usual fare and what he'd been able to do with the character.

I personally feel as if the N52 era really didn't have much good stuff, looking back. Batman had Capullo on art, GL continued as usual for a little while longer, but by and large it was all forgettable or bad (see Harley). Even the Rebirth that people used to wank off was largely forgettable. I liked PriestStroke (the first half anyhow, before he got superpowers), JL:Dark, Hal&Pals, and that was it, again.

I don't know, I feel that even though they try to write powerwank blockbuster comics, they just can't do it anymore. The 00s really perfected the formula and nothing has come close since then. They just drop
>UBER MEGA SUPER GIGA ULTRA
descriptors on poorly designed OC Donut Steels, have the MCs take them out with punching, and that's it. They lack that larger than life feeling.

I miss the days when Hal was relevant so much.

No.

No, it was awful.

>Forever Evil was trash.
try to elaborate this statement, I am curious.

Pretty generic/boring start.
Some of the minor heroes who got introduced were cool but didn't get enough use (Element Girl left behind with a brief cameo on a Doom Patrol oneoff showing, Vibe getting cut out and sent on his own solo adventure nobody cared about, etc)
The Earth3/ForeverEvil stuff was pretty good.
The Darkseid War/Gods thing was too rushed leaving stuff that would have been interesting basically unused and the big stuff to come of it fell flat later (3 jokers, Diana's brother, etc).

Team books are shit.

No

I thought it was okay, although I didn't like it as much as Johns' GL run. I was glad when The Anti-Monitor returned, though.

i dont

>>153623832
Yeah it was good. They should've just committed to the reboot.
>>

They'll never fully commit to a reboot, because despite a bunch of shit they would not wanna be tied to, its never 100% shit. There will always be things that writer/artists/fans liked and will miss. There will always be new shit that when poorly reviewed people will want it to go back to what they had before.
So eventually something will get written out, or get written back in, and suddenly the character/team/story wiki has 2 more paragraphs with links referencing back to the shit they took out or got back in.

No, but in retrospect, Cyborg is just fine on the JL but not as a founding member.

>There will always be things that writer/artists/fans liked and will miss
So just retell them. That's what they do in adaptations anyway, and they sometimes just do it in comics too.
