I read the whole series in about a week or two around the time the show started. I thought it was okay/average. Nothing to write home about.

Despite Kirkman's last minute scramble.I know it may not feel fair to modern efforts that they're late to stage, but it's not just about timing, the subject has already been settled from works like Miracle Man doing far more with it far sooner, more sincerely and succinctly, to say nothing of the difference in writing quality. Stuff like Invincible just seem drawn out and diluted in comparison.

Other anons have said it but in the comics I can’t get over how utterly unlikable Mark is. He’s smug, rude, violent, and has absolutely no defining principles. It’s like that throughout but especially at the end, when he ousts the planetary coalition for empire and that’s somehow meant to be a good thing? I don’t trust him as the absolute authority of the universe, he barely has control of himself.
