I've been reading this. Not really feeling it.
Anyone else?
>>
I read the whole series in about a week or two around the time the show started. I thought it was okay/average. Nothing to write home about.

that's normal, it's overall pretty mediocre
>>
>>153632288
It's the most median capeshit ever written, its main appeal is that it's more or less self-contained and has a beginning, middle, and end.

i read it a few years ago when it was storytimed here on /co/

my favorite characters ended up being Allen and Dinosaurus.

Mark Grayson is neutral evil and the comic ends up being anti-democratic propaganda

tried earlier this month and quit when mark went underwater to marry a fish

I mean it's mediocre, if you don't like it that isn't exactly surprising. Kirkman is a bad writer.
>>

It's Image, it's part of the whole comic fanboy satire thing.
Recent audiences are receptive to it and the Boys for the moment because of surface level theatrics, but if you're looking for something more but aren't into either of the prior things it's not there to tell you anything compelling the original material has not or can't. Despite Kirkman's last minute scramble.

I know it may not feel fair to modern efforts that they're late to stage, but it's not just about timing, the subject has already been settled from works like Miracle Man doing far more with it far sooner, more sincerely and succinctly, to say nothing of the difference in writing quality. Stuff like Invincible just seem drawn out and diluted in comparison.

It's all shit. I want to stick my cock in Battle Beast.

>Kirkman is a bad writer.
Then how'd he amass such a powerful media empire? Walking Dead and Invincible are two of the biggest adaptations in recent memory, loved by MANY
>>
>>153636362
They aren't written (plot and characters) well but they have good episodic formula (character moments and cliffhangers). Basically the same case as Naoki Urusawa except Urusawa can write a good story when he has a tardwrangler.

Because everyone else but us is stupid. The world is falling for Jewish propaganda while we see the truth. White power
>>
>>153636362
luck
>>153633173
kirkman is a hack who doesn't actually believe in anything
>>
>>153636362
People love bombastic slop with big moments. See also the popularity of Mark Millar.
>>
>>153632288
what's with the retarded confrontation the cartoon just covered where not a single aggressor other than Thaedus dies while fighting 40+ planet busters
>>
>>153636978
That's not true, Kradd died as well
>>
>>153637191
Kradd was on Viltrum's side
>>
>>153636362
>Then how'd he amass such a powerful media empire?
Lowest common denominator, same as the MCU.
>>
>>153632288
>anon discovers Invincible is a solid 5/10
>10/10 if you're a cynical gen X snark
>>
Other anons have said it but in the comics I can’t get over how utterly unlikable Mark is. He’s smug, rude, violent, and has absolutely no defining principles. It’s like that throughout but especially at the end, when he ousts the planetary coalition for empire and that’s somehow meant to be a good thing? I don’t trust him as the absolute authority of the universe, he barely has control of himself.
>>
I'm following the storytime threads and i sure wouldn't be reading it if it wasn't free

TWD show started airing in the middle of the late 2000s zombie craze and was notably more brutal and gorey than other shows on cable at the time. Invincible is a comic by the walking dead and used evil superman to bait the hook. Now it's survived long enough to be one of the less offensive adult animated shows to be getting made these days.

Then stop.
