has there been any actual examples of fanfiction (or fan content in general) permanently changing how most people view a character like a character is very different in canon vs how they are perceived in fanon (i guess sans is an obvious first pick but what about other characters)
>>153640323Only example I can think of is anime and even then, it's probably a very limited thing.
>>153640323I'd say fan content in general for a lot of antihero characters.
>>153640323Touhou I guess there’s like a ton of offenders probably the most obvious being yuyuko (in canon she’s like I dunno just some spirit lady in fanon SHE’S FUCKING KIRBY)
>>153640323So ascended fanon basically?Hmm, first thing that comes to mind is the doom slayer characterization of doomguy as this epic unstoppable badass when he was never really that in the games. It was basically taking memes and Brutal Doom and putting it into a canon version.Oh, just thought of one more /co/. Tails Doll hasn't been depicted much officially since sonic r but in Archie they did have him show up as a vague monster thing, and sonic channel has depicted him as weird in some art. He's just a robot in the games but he got famous on the Internet by creepypasta shit.I know there are more examples but I can't think of any right now. This kind of thing is fairly common for long running properties.
Fnaf has a lotta examples I guess
