So, we all agree it's the weakest of the golden age, right?
>>
Absolutely not

That’s always Cars, if you don’t count it then Up as the intro montage carries that movie HARD.
>>
>>153643594
Nah, Cars was kino.
I'm also just now learning Lightning McQueen was named after a Pixar animator who had recently passed away. Pretty wholesome.
>>
>>153643838
That’s fair DESU, I would rather rewatch Cars over most Pixar movies.
>>
>>153643537
It's my personnel favorite

Finding Nemo has some of the BEST atmospheric work from that era. The soundtrack alone puts it near the top of the list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-mciLO6sa0
>>
It's Cars 100%. I don't care how good the introduction and Life is a Highway scene was, the segment with Lightning doing community service and getting comfortable at Radiator Springs is the weakest part of the movie (which was basically the whole film).

It's A Bug's Life. Cars it's the most merch driven from those times but it still stands out among most western animated films for it's premise alone.

Bug's Life is the most stereotypical Pixar movie possible, which is weird because it was just their second. It's bland compared to all others, but the crazy part is how it's still a very good movie, Pixar really had a legendary run for those 15 years.

Swedish sounds like a gibberish alien language you'd see in a movie.

Wow, I thought there was only one dead Pixar staff member who Cars was dedicated to.
>>

No that's either Bugs Life or Cars. Finding Nemo is a really fun movie and even though it doesn't hit some of the emotional points golden age pixar was known for, it's a really great ride from front to back. I'd actually go so far as to say Cars and Bugs Life are the only Pixar movies from that era period that have any real problems.
>>
the hell are you talking about (OP)? This film was everywhere back in the day. There were several facebook pages based on quotes alone.

Englisch probably sounds just as unintelligible from their POV

That's A Bug's Life.
>Animation didn't have Nemo's wow factor yet
>Story was really bland and derivative
>Characters were much more forgettable and one note.
>Finale was rushed as all hell.

This movie feels almost jarring nowadays, it feels more like a Blue Sky attempted knockoff than something Pixar made.
>>
Cars sucks, but truck guys sure love to buy up those Mater window shields

>even though it doesn't hit some of the emotional points golden age pixar was known for
I don't think you watched it.

And it's merch made several billion dollars so obviously it was popular with kids, it had some appeal.

Yes. Billion. Several BILLION Dollars. Not A Billion. Several billion. Just in merch. By far their biggest seller. World is a weird place.
>>
>>153646626
They probably like the merch more than the actual movie. Car guys are weird, just browse /o/ for a bit and you'll see what I mean

genuinely don't understand the praise for cars
it wasn't bad, just very very forgettable.
>>

Like how Frozen was huge and catered almost entirely to little girls and not much else, Cars was huge and catered almost entirely to little boys and not much else, which is why when adults who've never watched it as a child try to get into it, it just seems pretty much forgettable.

Jellyfish scene still kinda fucks me up ngl

Man.
The trailer really leans in the FAR opposite direction of Finding Nemo's tone .
We are commercials like that in the past

Someone got a electrocution fetish from this, I'm sure.
