Disney President and Chief Creative Officer Dana Walden explains why Toy Story 5 is a huge risk
>>

This is such a nothing statement.

woody get ipad

toy story 5 is basically the same formula.
>new toy arrives
>old toys feel they are being replaced
>adventure
>in the end the status quo is restored
they just don't know what do do with the IP anymore.

Unless that risk includes Pixar's shutdown, I ain't buying it.

That's been a problem since the start of Hollywood and media in general. Don't pretend it's a recent issue.

I'd argue the 80s started that, not the 90s. and even then, the seeds started in the 70s the moment Josie and the Pussycats were born.

wokeslop didn't get particularly bad until the 2010s and since then it's mainly been driven by virtue signalling and social media's influence on real life. it was usually innocuous when we still called it political correctness

Oh no, they're so scared that their keystone franchise might flop after 4 box office hits in a row

BONNIE, Satan, BONNIE.
>>
I want this movie to flop so bad but I know it won't. I'm so tired.
>>
>technology bad but not really

It's just another slop for masses, they slurp it down and expect another dose

Here's the real reason it's a risk:
>"What if they're really sick of it this time?"
>>
>>153661607
>It is important that we make a movie that is important to us, because importance
She literally said nothing at all
>>

There is nothing else to do with the IP. They covered everything that can be covered with a toy main character.

>Replaced by cooler new toy
>Mean kid tortures and breaks toys
>Kidnapped by a collector
>Kid grew up now they have to make do with a new place
>Kid took them on a trip and lost one of them

There is not a whole lot they can do here. Especially if Pixar is so married to making it an overly dramatic tear jerker. They covered toys having an existential crisis about being forgotten after the kid grows up in 2 and 3.

>sequel
>to a legacy ip
>huge risk
That's a lot of stupid to unpack.
