This show was legitimately ahead of its time. Somehow, watching it in 2026, it feels more relevant and funny than it did in 2010.

I wanted to like it because I believe it was animated by the same people behind superjail, but i found it to be a little too boring, granted i havent seen it since it first aired. maybe i wasn't old enough to appreciate it.

It's on Paramount plus, you shpuld give it a try. The wife and I are 5 episodes in and we've been legitimately blindsided by how good most of the jokes are.

>was animated by the same people behind superjail
They actually deserve mad props. The animation is really well stylized and stands out nicely.

>a good adult cartoon
>has a zombie caracter
>dosent became a zombie cartoon

What went wrong?
>>
>>153667551
Sadly people with imagination were involved with the show.

Augenblick animation. Their shows can be hit or miss, but the animation is always on point.

Callie can get it. She gave me a fetish for business women. Natasha Leggero nailed the character (and she’s also a babe).

I’m so mad this got canned for brickleberry, it was a fantastic show with a lot of heart
>>
>>153667551
Because there was so much more shit going on. And Randal’s zombification is pretty funny.

>I’m so mad this got canned for brickleberry
I thought it was Tosh.0 the reason this show got cancelled.
>>
>>153670530
How so?

I feel the same way about Caprica. AIs made of dead people's socials are a thing now but nobody got the idea back then.

Brickleberry was executive produced in part by Daniel Tosh. People (rightfully) blame him for Ugly American's cancellation because there wasn't space on the schedule for Brickleberry so he threw a tantrum to make sure room was made. Fearing that he'd pull Tosh.0 which was a profitable show, this resulted in Ugly Americans getting cancelled to make room for Brickleberry. Ugly Americans wasn't so popular that it was printing money hand over fist, but it was doing well enough to otherwise justify continuing production.
I'm not one to buy into the typical /co/ show against show grudgematch that some autists like to push, but this was an explicit case where one show was directly cancelled to make way for another because of an unfunny meddling comedian.

What an absolute faggot. Brickleberry was dogshit.
>>

Tosh had no fucking right. Sure, his show was titanic at the time, but the format wasn't original and his writing was mostly "Haha gay, isn't that funny? I'm saying something gay!" He shouldn't have had the pull to strong arm a decision like that.

The show's legacy.

>show is full of crazy and unique characters
>let's squander all that potential by putting a boring generic normal guy at the center of everything

Every time.

No, that would be the virus that turns people into Larry King.
>>
>>153673200
I don't understand the objection to this.

Grimsburg feels like trying again with this concept. A workplace comedy full of bizarre fantasy creatures.
>>

When will studios learn they're shooting themselves in the foot with this generic adult cartoon art style?
>>
>>153673200
He's charming for his boy scout attitude and watching him get bullied by the other characters makes it funny. This is like complaining about Hank Hill being closeminded.
>>
>>153673200
He's actually really funny though
>>
>>153669459
That's how I felt about Ugly Americans. It was fun to watch just for the animation, but it never really struck me as a comedy. I always wonder if it might have lasted longer on a different network.
>>
>>153673364
I'm sure it's a difficult decision to weigh. Experimental animation styles can be a bad thing for adult comedies that are intended to appeal to normies, because they probably won't really get it and then not care, but going generic or aping something else is just going to draw comparisons. A lot of the originals on fox during the 2000s didn't do particularly well. I was expecting bob's burgers to do poorly simply because of its premise and how it looked, but it was incredibly charming and it wasn't so wacky that it turned people off. Adult swim is one of the only places where you're going to find successful animated shows that do something unconventional. South park received a ton of criticism early on because people didn't understand the art style

>2010
wtf... I'm old... The show will always hold a special place in my heart though
>>
I mostly remember the terrible twin stick shooter made for XBLA.
>>
>>153675016
They said ugly americans and I knew it was about me
>>
>>153674361
Eh... I can't think of a single copy-paste style animated adult cartoon that ended up successful.
