>Show's budget increases >Show looks worseWhy?
That's a nice Colorado
>>153669302>another "South Park Sucks Now" threadAnyway, the artstyle degradation has been talked about to death
>>153669302For south park it's because they cram too much detail within the technical limitations, so it ends up looking tacky
>>153669302the joke of it just being a puddle is lost by making it into a proper lake
>>153669802All of the funny parts of South Park are lost
they dropped the construction paper aesthetic. I know only the first episode was animated that way and other ones just replicate it now, but these days you wouldn't look at modern south part and think it looks like construction paper. matt and trey don't even like the first few seasons, and the way it looks is part of it.
>>153669802I thought if it as a meta joke. Like now the show is try hard and they show that by putting a bunch of details on a pointless location. It's full of itself like with the grocery store plotline
>>153669302Tecnhical improvment overshadowing artistic intnent is sadly very common in this industry
>>153669302Because the appeal was the kind of childlike construction paper animation. Stupid looking animals are funnier than more realistic ones, and Stark's pond being a shitty little pond with a sign is funny for a podunk mountain town. It's like they forgot the humor of the visuals later on.
>>153669302>>153669948SUPER unpopular and probably incorrect opinion here I know but I actually like the new detailed visuals to contrast with the crudely drawn characters who don't even seperate their legs as they walk and who for the kids the heads making up like 60% of their bodies. I just think it's funny.
>>153670025Trey...
>>153669872It is very much not a meta joke
>>153671461No, it's the joke. It's just the creators of the show aren't in on it
>>153671932So it's like an unintended pun?
>>153672379Bassically yeah. Theu went from naking jokes to becoming the joke
Wait, wasn't Stark's Pond being just a puddle part of the premise? Is it now just a fucking lake?
>>153673865Yes, it is
>>153672379Am pretty sure they hire oompa loompas to do the animation specially the backgrounds and they just pulled a fast one on them
>>153674413Well, I hope the oompa loompas do other better stuff
>>153670556I know this may be hard for you to believe, but loads of people have enjoyed the bulk of South Park's run and the ways it's evolved over time to keep things fresh.
