So yeah. Inmate X is Warden Ellis' brother. No idea why we spent years on this mystery if it was going to end up being an OC who we know almost nothing about.I wanted to go into more depth on why this reveal doesn’t work, but the X-Book rips came a day late so I’ll just do a TL;DR of it: it doesn’t really work when re-reading all previous Inmate X moments, and I highly suspect that it was meant to be Proteus but got rewritten at the last second (just like how that mysterious cult leader guy from Issue #20-21 whose identity was never revealed read like he was meant to be Fabian Cortez).
Back to this fake reality, where the Outliers are finally realizing that something is wrong…

And now for Magik and Colossus.
Previously, Magik and Colossus were forcefully separated by Koschei the Immortal, revealed to be the mastermind behind the attacks on Colossus. Koschei trapped Magik in an underground fight ring where she was unable to use any of her tools at disposal and was forced to fight various mooks and monsters, including the sorcerer Count Kaoz. But Colossus was able to successfully locate where the fight ring was taking place using his knowledge of the Russian Underground, and broke into it to help Magik and Kaoz kill the remaining monsters and then teleport away. The only chance they had to defeat Koschei was to reach out to Count Kaoz’s ex and the one being that Koschei feared: Baba Yaga!

And now for Wolverine.
Last issue, Athena stopped Logan and Hercules from fighting and freed the latter from the Adamantine’s control. She explains to Logan that he is the destined “Savage Champion” of this reality who will defeat the Adamantine with the help of Herc, and teleports them to a military base in Southern China where the Adamantine was now wrecking havoc. But the Adamantine was able to easily overpower them both, and when trying to save Herc from getting killed, Logan lunges at the Adamantine…and shatters the claws on his right hand.
I can already tell where this is going…

Most of this blame can be placed at the feet of Belasco, and some of it on Magik herself, but Colossus like any guardian figure is going to blame himself for everything. Colossus also broke the neck of his girlfriend a few years ago while under mind control too, so he's trying to make up for his perceived mistakes despite not really being to blame for anything that happened to Magik or KaylaOn Magik's end, she's trying to move past her traumas and mistakes, but with Colossus unable to forgive himself there's going to be friction there
