>secretly working for the DrejWas it a good twist?
good in that it was really unexpected but bad bc it felt like it was just happening to ratchet up the drama in the final act
>Planet IceWhy was it called that for most of its production?
>>153671480My guess is due to the freezing the dna.
>What are they afraid of? What did humans ever do to the Drej?>It's not what we did. They're afraid of what we might becomeLazy explanation
>>153672399To think Janeane Garofalo was originally going to voice Fiona in Shrek
The Drej did nothing wrong.
>>153671480Shadow Raiders fan
>>153672435Yea they did
>You lied. Everything you said? Everything you told me?>Not everything. Your father hid his ship, then the Drej killed him. All because he couldn't face the truth>Yeah? What is the truth?>That the human race is outta gas. It's circling the drain. It's finished. The only thing that matters is grabbing what you can before somebody else beats ya to it>No. I don't believe that>Then you're even more like your father than I thought. A foolHe seemed like an optimistic guy before the twist
>>153671344>Was it a good twist?not really>>153671392for this reason alone, and for being one of the few humans left? why would you condemn yourself from meeting other human women?to die alone with space bucks?
>>153671344Ultimately, no. They could never make it fit. But, this is what happens wen you turn your Big Bad into a soulless entity like the Drej were. No true investment in the final act rather than 'eh, they'll win, we can wait out their melodrama'.A greater, more crazier twist may have been having the DREJ tell Cale about what the Titan could be used for, and then Korso telling him when found out that the plan was in fact to lure the Drej in and use them as energy.
Reminder that Titan A.E. premiered in USA/Canada only seven days before pic related
>>153672399>Angry sex with Stith
>>153673270okwhy
>>153673675They wanted to win
>>153673693who did
>>153673704Titan A.E. premiered first, in retrospective they couldn't do as good as chicken run it was just to good
>>153673717are you saying they rushed it to theatres in order to premiere before CR?
>>153671344It's the original twist from Treasure Island. While Treasure Planet was a close adaptation but in spes, Titan AE was a reimagining.
Titan A.E. is all style, little substance.

>>153678713Went to go see Titian AE when I was around 14 years old.Me, my older brother and 2 friends all went. After the movie they wouldn't shut up about how how Akima was.Agreed to fit in, but in reality I thought Stith was hotter.Didn't say it, because I knew they would clown me over it.Always preferred alien/athro/monster women over generic human girls.
Don Bluth didn't enjoy making the film (due to being forced to finish someone else's project, and due to his stupid bias against sci-fi in animation), the original creator/producer did not really like it (it wasn't a longer and more epic story as originally planned). But the one person who enjoyed working on the movie was the score composer, Graeme Revell. Listen to the score (not the songs) and you will feel it. Don even mentions it in the commentary, how the composer had a lot of fun.

>>153680486As long as it's well drawn, you cannot complain too much.
>>153673730Yeah I think that's exactly what anon is saying. Such scheduling maneuvers happen all the time between competing film companies.
>>153681264i dont think that information is really germane to this discussionbut i guess it ads something
>>153671344This movie is highly satanic because it has aliens aka DEMONS
>>153672519You even notice how the Drej, the Shadows from Babylon 5 and the Beasts's servants from Shadow Raiders pretty much carry the same specific vibe?
Wasn't there like a second twist that he actually was good or something? I remember thinking it was stupid even when I was 11.
>>153681423The movie was about awesome, awesome music, space, and 2D+3DYou might have watched it for the wrong reasons
