>it's been 10 years since the last LBT movieDo you think Universal has finally put this franchise to rest?
>>153673189who's the faggot behind littlefoot
>>153673213I think some character made specifically for pic-related
Universal markets Jurassic World to toddlers now, they don't need it anymore.
>>153673240Do kids these days even like dinosaurs?
>>153673263Yes they do
>>153673189Universal has, unfortunately it's not going to stop some dude from making an unofficial "remake" of the first film.>every millennial just started cryingHAHAHA, they can't be fucking serious.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irqFq1-GZig
>>153673263I think dinosaurs are pretty timeless. All the 2-3 year olds in my extended family are all nuts about them. One of them is constantly explaining things to me whenever I see him. Bastard can barely string sentences along but can pronounce "Haplocanthosaurus" without stuttering.
>>153673189It's only been 10 years, Jesus fuckI thought these stopped in the Bush years
>>153673189At a certain point, it's going to have to change to "The Land During Time" "Trek to the Apple Store".
Everybody knows that if it's a Walmart exclusive, it HAS to be good, right..?
>>153673835Holy shit, there are 14 movies and a 26 episode series! I think it's crazy how far these have drifted from the original film too. The original was a high effort dramatic film about a kid coming to terms with his mother's death while struggling with his own mortality. It had amazing animation and art, gorgeous iconic score, and a single song during the credits. Almost immediately after that, the films devolved into wacky adventures where there are songs every few minutes, insanely cheap animation, and a new token character who lasts exactly one film to drive the bullshit plot.
I had one of these on VHS and rented the original and the other sequels to watch from Blockbuster, even back then there was like 10 of them. Impressive they kept it up until the 2010s.
>>153673900I haven't been to a walmart in ages, but those literal bins they just threw dvds into that you could pick through for like $1 were a treasure trove of dank finds (assuming you're into shitty low budget movies).
>>153673986>those literal binsI'm a poorfag, so I'm well aware of those bins LOL. Hell, I grew up on CRTs before during the widespread adoption of flatscreen LCDs until the mid-10s.
>>153674009>before during*during (removing "before" makes the sentence easier to read)
>>153673263Dinosaurs are hindbrain shit. One way or another a child will understand what they are
>>153673877Uh?
The world is too different, endless DTV sequels just don't bring the same returns Dinos don't have the same place in popular culture eitherSad
>>153676512>Dinos don't have the same place in popular culture eitherBirds still do, and they're living Dinosaurs.
>>153673189You might say it's an extinct franchise
>>153676505"The Land Before Time""The Land During Time""The Land After Time"If they keep the story going long enough, eventually it will no longer take place "before time"
>errrm, ackshually birds are le dinosaursI swear the first person to say that shit to me within arm's reach is gonna get strangled
>>153673802Why? Half of them are just big retarded lizard looking fucks.
I love dinos! They're are so cool!!
>>153673189>Do you think Universal has finally put this franchise to rest?Yup yup yup
>>153673189What's the land before time?
>>153676505He thinks people should be fetching pales of water instead of watching tv
>>153673189>>153676512I genuinely believe the direct-to-video model finally ran dry for them, so now they’re playing the long game waiting to reboot it theatrically and shit all over the original.
>>153679457The closest we're getting so far is some YouTuber making a 20 minute short film. Apparently Pomeroy (1 out of 3 producers) liked it so far.
>>153679491>forget to send the linkMy badhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEzr8IGReUw
>>153673263Same as the other anon who replied to this, my 3 year old nephew is crazy about dinosaurs. They’ll always scratch that little itch in our heads.
>>153673263They re dragons that really existed. Of course kids love them
>>153679348Pangea
>>153679457>Starring Seth Rogan as Spike
>>153673263Late to this, but absolutely, my store had part of the boys section dedicated to just Jurassic Park stuff, and it sells. Not as much as Hot Wheels, but it gets up at times.
>>153673213Wild Arms, a neurotic moronic Nothronychus.
>>153673960Hey, some of those songs are awesome.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUn5bF_pFjY&list=RDrUn5bF_pFjY&start_radio=1
>>153679628more like when you're big chungus
>>153673547Holy shit, that looks like total ass.
>>153679904IKR? The millennial reactions make it hard to take this teaser seriously.
>>153679964Can't wait for his reaction.
>>153679977>his last name is buttsHAHAHAHAHA
>>153679995And his wife looks like a female version of him.
>>153673960because not one of the sequels had any of the original staff from the first one involved, except for maybe some of the VAs.
>>153679604>every little boy is either a Hot Wheels kid or a Dinosaur kid
>>153673189I actually got round to binging all these films this year, honestly most of them were actually pretty good except for 6, 9, 11 and especially 13 though it definitely should've stopped at 10 as that seemed like a perfect finale....also yes Littlefoot and Cera were kinda OTP. I will say even the bad ones had something I liked wether it was a song, character moments or just a cool Sharptooth antagonist.
>>153679628Big Water is still one of the best songs in the franchise. Also the Best of Friends song is genuinely really solid and almost fooled me into thinking 10 was the ending for the franchise despite the fact I knew I had 4 more films awaiting me.
>>153677576I think you just have no eye for quality
>>153680016Pretty much, Sonic stuff has been selling thanks to the Paramount movies (lending even more credence to the design changing being a godsend). A sad thing to see was Star Wars fumbling in the toy department, the fucking turnaround from stuff being fresh out of the box to ending up with clearance stickers was wild, even more of a reason why Disney fucked up with the movies.
>>153680032Very Important Creature is also really good, and I always get a dopey grin listening to The Lone Dinosaur.
>>153680016There's a reason Cadillacs and Dinosaurs exists.
>>153680081I was being metaphorical. 'dino' doesn't just mean literal dinosaurs, it means anything dinosaur-adjacent like zoobooks and Pokemon. 'Hot Wheels' meanwhile means anything HW-adjacent like Sonic and skateboarding. more broadly, it's a contrast between "big monster" and "speedy stuff". little boys seem to typically fall into only one of those two camps, they either want a big monster for a pet or they want to go really really fast
>>153680018> most of them were actually pretty good except for 6, 9, 11 and especially 13 though it definitely should've stopped at 10Hmmmm…
>>153680007At least one of the VAs was missing from the sequels...
>>153680082The lone Dinosaur song is unironically dope despite 6 not being the best, though Doc is a pretty solid character and the Allosaurus is so aggressively stupid that it is hilarious. 11 is pretty lame, even without following up from Great Longnecks Migration but the Girls and Dads song is genuinely insanely catchy plus I'll use this to note that Cera is consistently the best character in every one of the sequels.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7msaNHb0PoQ
>>153680081I've been recently collecting those Mattel Jurassic World figures since I got the dinosaur autism back this year and they genuinely are pretty top notch figures with nice detail, fun to handle plus honestly have some pretty fun designs even with the obvious paleological discrepancies I'm not that fussed about. I love dinosaurs wether they are accurate or fantasticised.
>>153680179A dinosaur anime action game would be the tits now that you've got me thinking that with the Final Fantasy comparison.
>>153680096Arcade was prett goody.
Speaking of dinosaur media what do we think of Dead Soundhttps://youtu.be/_4SQ2mWxnEc?si=Dj_mIzNmsVD4BbE9
>>153673547Soul
>>153673960The Mysterious Island is the best movie
>>153680485>is ducky even gonna be there???
>>153680462Fucking love his stuff, strikes a great balance with giving dinosaurs personality while having them behave like real animals. I also think he gets a great middle ground of speculative and accurate details on the dinosaurs plus makes sure to have them be visually vibrant.
>>153680096I really hope it's just a rights issue because how the hell doesn't Universal just make a movie of this that combines Fast and Furious with Jurassic Park?
>>153680490Agreed, 10 and 7 are probably closely tied behind it in quality.
>>153680032FRIENDS FOR DINNER I'M GONNA HAVE FRIENDS FOR DINNERI'M GONNA GETA COUPLE OF THOSE A COUPLE OF THESE THINGS FROM THE BUSHES AND THINGS FROM THE TREES
>>153680082Nothing really tops Always There
>>153680462Is anything coming of that show about the magic talking raptor and the aliens?
>>153680531Honestly that song earns Littlefoot finally mentioning his mother in the sequels, just an absolute great tune.
>>153680509Sounds about right. I'm still doing my rewatch but I remember watching Stone of Cold Fire a lot as a kid. One thing I'll say about 10 is I was disappointed that Allie and Doc didn't show up for the migration.
>>153680635Honestly yeah since the narrative just screams to have them appear though I suppose getting Kiether Sutherland, James Garner and Bernadette Peters ate up the budget plus Doc being there would've meant they would've had to throw in an extra Sharptooth or two to even the odds of the climax. Shame as if it was the grand finale then that would've been the perfect time to have Doc and Allie pop up even if they would've recasted them. Honestly with the LBT sequels I'm impressed how many of the VA's stuck around for it, I'm always in a struggle over which Cera voice I prefer since both actresses just do a 10/10 job though I'm leaning towards Andi Mcafee personally.
