I'm nostalgic for stupid indie (Or Indie like) comics that weren't trying to be anything more than dumb fun. So I will be story timing a few. Starting with Hack Slash.
The premise is basically a mash up of generic slasher films from the 80s but with a fan service MC. It starts getting a bunch of cross overs with the slash films it references.

I remember spending a lot of time hunting down the origins issues when I first saw the first issue back in the day, because it felt like a recap of an entire arc I missed. Knowing it isn't the case makes the whole thing feel rushed and slapdash, honestly.

I got a sweet spot for Hack/Slash, it's such a product of its times (2000ies) to be incredibly charming. I mean, slasher tropes, Suicide Girls, terrible collabs, early Internet era. It's often so bad to be quite charming. Also, the goddamn alien dog (Pooch) was probably never intended to last as long as it did, but chrissakes he managed to become quite the amusing extra even when his adoptive owners kicked the bucket for ???? reasons.
