man I was just discussing this in youtube comments where I'm pretty sure I'm shadowbanned so nobody saw itIt's so amazing how comics showed us what you really need for a successful formulayou gotta have the deep, probably disturbed artist. The Kirby, the Ditko, whoever.You GOTTA have the 'face' of the thing, who can write punchy dialogue, come up with vague ideas for you to run with, and stand up to people trying to control or question what you're doingbut you also really really need the artisans, the Romitas of the world, who take "eh whatever it's a drawing, move on to the next one" and refine it to "Spidey should have exactly this many web lines on his face, at these angles" and in so doing, makes your pulp product into a marketable juggernaut.
