Very hollow show to be honest. Just feels like a series for the coomers and "OHMYGOD I UNDERSTOOD THAT VIDEOGAME REFERENCE". Animation is pretty okay and music's fine (can never go wrong with Grant Kirkhope, man's the one behind Mario + Rabbids) but oof, the hype behind it feels almost forced.

Some good, some bad. The visuals are appealing, the, premise is unique and intriguing, it actually uses the premise of being a videogame in its visuals and choregraphies in ways that don't feel shallow (unlike other shows with similar premises like code lyoko or glitch tech) and show an understanding of what a videogame actually looks like. The fight between the dolphin and the shark especially was choregraphed just like a platformer boss fight would play out. It felt convincing, which is rare in that genre.Now, the bad... it's completely unclear what the protagonists even are doing They're supposedly part of an organisation, and they're trying to stop the protagonist from finishing the world, but they have no plan and no methodology, and it's unclear why they even oppose the other guys since those apparently have a plan to restore the worlds. Those stakes should have probably been clarified in the pilot.Second, the paper guy and miss information have terrible designs, straight up. They're unmemorable and unremarkable, it's unclear what the fuck the paper guy even is at first glance, Completely uncharismatic characters, they wouldn't fly as first drafts.And finally, making the dolphin retarded detracted from the tone of the episode. I'm not even sure why it was a choice since it was barely used for any jokes, just a couple here and there. Having him be a more straightforwardly well meaning hero like Kit would have served their parallel at the end much better. It felt like the kind of reflexive behavior carton writers have with making characters ZANNY and COOKY because they're insecure that the audience might change the channel if something "funny" doesn't happen every five seconds. Completely unneeded in this format, you an do better.Overall... I'll watch a second one. It was better than knights of gwuinevere and gaslight district, but I'll need the next one to be a homerun to continue caring.

It reminds me of web animations from the early 2010s, tonally. I found it a pretty laid-back and entertaining watch :)

The outlier I can think of is Spy Fox but he's also explicitly an adult and is a bit above the whole "cow go moo" thing that sounds off-putting when it's a middle aged man doing it
