Hi /co/. I always wanted to do a full Mars Attacks/Dinosaurs Attacks story time. The issue was that there was no where online that archived the cards of the full series. After spending hours searching the internet I believe I have finally found every card from the mainline franchise.
>>153694236You're doing God's work here, anon. I love these things.
>>153694236Based OP. Keep up the good work.
>>153694236Someone did a partial one semi-recently, yeah? (God it was probably years ago now). Good luck OP.
>>153694542That was me however I didn't finish it because I couldn't find the rest of the series. However I was able to find a lot more so am restarting it.
bless you OP

>>153695370>>153695346>>153695411>>153695298I remember /co/ always complaining that the middle part just turned into Bugs Attack and how everyone hated it
>>153695444I was totally not muttering, >why big bugs? Duplicate viruses or something more hazardous, duplicate small bugs, that'd be more terrifying.
>>153694236Which of the cards made it into the movie?

>>153694236HOLY FUCK THANK YOU!!!! Mars attacks is one of my favorite underrated sci-fi franchise and the cards for it are peak. I really wish i owned a few cards even if they were modern reprints but alas all i own are action figures of the martians. Ill post a pic of my favorite when the storytime is done tho
>>153694236dang I literally JUST watched the movie adaption. It was great but I wish we got to see the humans go to mars like in the cards.
>>153695444>>153695561I actually thought the giant bugs were really cool and i remember being disappointed the movie didnt adapt it. I really wish mars attacks got a darker and more faithful adaptation either from a new movie or an animation. Some of the comics for mars attacks were pretty good too.
>>153694876why did nobody tell them aliens were invading?
>>153694762where'd they get this pic of me reading the cards
>>153696179>Ack ack a-ACK!
I think Pat Mills referenced these a couple of times in Marshal Law but I can't remember the issue
>>153696150Why do they wear helmets under the helmets lol.
This was real nice, thx OP.
>>153696252It was in the first miniseries, IIRC
Bump. Thanks op
>>153694236I was watching it in a theater last night. They distributed replicas of the cards instead of tickets and threw Mars bars in the audience while everyone was doing martian noises. It may of may not be a coincidence but I salute you for it
Thank you yery much for the great thread idea, love those!
>>153696152Since the storytime appears to he over ill post my martian figure now. This is only one of the mars attacks guys i own but it is the first i ever got and also my favorite. I got him in a blind box in 2014. I still have his dome piece that goes over his head in two pieces but its somewhere else at the moment.
>>153697453Have they made a recent card series of mars attacks? I think the last one came out almost ten years back by now
>>153697612Judge Dredd vs Mars Attacks was actually not that bad.
bump
>>153696179>>153696219>>153696256>>153696293>>153696340Little fuckers had it coming.
Going to do Dinosaurs attack Tomorrow
>>153698029That entire run of IDW Mars Attacks crossovers were better than they had any right to be
>>153700395Ill try to keep the thread alive long enough for you to do so. God speed anon, your a king for doing this
What bad timing lol
>>153697453>Mars Attacks rereleaseWas there an anniversary or something? Damn I'd have loved to catch it in the theaters again. Even Terminator 2 's out of my grasp this year. Fun story btw.
Bull Airs made a pair of Mars Attacks sneakers and a Martian Madball late last year/early this year. That's about the extent of action the IP sses nowadays sadly. It was also discovered recently that the 60's cards lapsed in the early 90s, meaning the whole enchilada's been public domain for the last 30 years or so.
>>153700561Why is that?
If we ever get another Mars Attacks movie, my hope is the terrifier people make it. Just give me a 1 to 1 adaption of the cards with all the gore and hyperviolence you can concieve of.
I'm fond of the Giffen series from Topps comics (when they were a thing). Turns out the Martians had sent peace envoys to Earth for centuries but they always landed in bad spots and got killed by tribals, zealots and rednecks. They invade full force and it plays out like the cards but there is something our military has the Martians had never conceived of: Submarines!
>>153701769Forgot image
ty v cool
>>153700476They truly are.
>>153700578Alas, it's just a local theater with an undying love of classics
>>153701985Ah, still sounded like an amazing time. I wish Mars Attacks were still popular. How we have yet to get a Mars Attacks the Killer Klowns comic/movie/etc still confounds me.
>>153701769>>153701790The Topps series of Martian books are all over the place. I cant recommend them enough in anycase. They embody the weirdest and wildest of 90's comics. Has anyone else read the Mars Attacks Image Comics stuff? It's honestly tragic how much of the original Image universe was lost to time, because when they were firing on all cylinders things were really fun. Savage Dragon was revealed to be a creation of Martian scientists with the intent to infiltrate and destroy humanity before he went rogue. I believe it was later retconned, but that tidbit just seems so much more fun to me. Seeing all the classic Image staples kicking martian ass was great too.
>>153701916>covers that live rent free in your brain
It's a shame Erik became such a fuddy duddy boomer. The guy's got the world in the palm of his hand, there's all these golden opportunities to do fun stuff with his characters, and he just rather publish smut about dragon jr than anything remotely as fun or cool as the early dozen issues of Dragon being a super beat cop. Let alone make use of the martian origin now that they're PD.
I like the OG cards but at one point it feels like it turned into more giant insects attacks rather than Mars Attacks. You can get a feeling that the big bugs inspired the Dinosaur Attack cards.
