Remember when DreamWorks and Imagi teamed up to create an adult sitcom that only lasted 14 episodes?
>>
>dreamworks
>imagi
Thanks, now I have even less of a reason to check this out. That furry gooner was dangerously close to making me not wanna check it out to begin with.
>>

Imagi only did the animation. DW is responsible for everything else
>>
>>153699117
I remember. It was a fun, but short-lived show. Nothing TOO special.
>>
>>153699117
I find it more amazing that they made a show which featured a gay couple
>>
>>153699226
Funny how they went from tv to feature films, but never managed to bounce back ala. Nitrogen/Cinesite Canada. You'd think Sausage Party would've been Nitrogen's downfall since they mostly worked on CG Thomas prior.
>>
>Zentrix
>Father of the Pride
>Digital Monster X-Evolution
>TMNT
>Highlander: The Search for Vengeance
>Astro Boy

Imagi was only able to deliver 6 works in their 10 years of existence

>that only lasted 14 episodes
That's better than most new shows these days...
>>
>>153699259
It was an adult cartoon that played the gay angle for laughs, that's how they got away with it.

I enjoyed this as a kid but when I got older and was a virgin I couldn't watch it any more because it was so mean about virgins and made me feel bad.
Now I'm married I should give it another go. Lol.

NTA, but I was around some serious normcattle who never knew CN had the [as] block. Good times...

And yet it looks like that.

Heh, that's how it worked for most of us. Cartoon Network: After Hours, we'd call it...

In an alternate timeline, Father of the Pride would've been a rousing success, ushering in an era of CG-animated adult cartoons and this shit wouldn't be the only one we get in present-day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ee3_UzpBeo

Why is fantasy violence a separate label from violence?
>>
I remember Donkey appeared in one episode
>>
>>153705008
And to shill Shrek the Turd at an incorrect date LMAO.
>>
>>153705008
Yeah, and he's an actor, with Shrek still being a movie. Except his real name is still Donkey. Also he has a stunt double.
Is Shrek a real actual ogre that portrays a fictionalized version of himself in Father of the Pride?
Also it's been a while but I think Father of the Pride is one of those "animals do human things but only when humans aren't around" type deals, so what does that mean for Donkey? Is he considered an exceptional donkey for being able to talk, or do people just know that animals can all talk
>>
>>153699117
Siegfried pie
>>
>>153699117
They need to reboot, get the S+R crap out of there (just have it set in a random zoo, and make the premise "this is what goes on at zoos after the humans leave"), and make it for adults, like shows like Big Mouth and Mating Season. Pig teats were nice...but I want MORE.
>>
>>153699117
i was convinced this was a weird fever dream i had while visiting a family member.
i tried watching it a few years ago and it is fucking awful.
>>
>>153706563
Siegfried and Roy were the only funny things about the show
>>
>>153700929
Where did the money go?
>>
>>153706881
CGI was expensive as shit back then, and there was Mj royalties every time the 2 fruitcups showed up and that 1 second, 3 word song played, as well as S&R appearance/likeness royalties. As for what DreamWorks did with the NBC money...Idunno.
>>
>Katzenberg chose Imagi to do the animation of this show because he was impressed with Zentrix
Based
>>
2004 DreamWorks was something else. They released Shrek 2, Father of the Pride, and Shark Tale in that year
>>
>>153699117
And Donkey was in it!
>>
>>153699117
No
>>
Gotta wonder what Imagi's future would've been like if Astro Boy didn't kill them
