What's a good comic for an introduction to Magik? I've started reading the new mutants and whilst the writing is utter cringe Illyana stands out so much compared to the rest of the cast.

New Mutants is kind of annoying me... This is the third time instead of letting an action or story sequence play out they've instead forced me to put up with the Brazilian guy monologuing about how cool and attractive and funny he and the team all is all whilst skipping the actual meat of the story. Seven issues in and I can't even tell you what half the squad does! There's the elemental wood guy, Magik, Armour, the memory wipe twins, and fuck knows what else the group can do. I know the Scottish girl is meant to have shapeshifting powers but I've seen her half-transformed once.

Yeah... 2019 New Mutants is fucking shit lol XD The opening run was dreadful, the ending was dogshit, the only period I sorta liked was the 15 to 22 mark with the kid mutants but even that arc I felt shat the bed. I will say that Tempus is 10/10 adorable tho, she looks like a Lil baby Rogue!!
