By this metric, Baby shark is the best YouTube animation.
>>
>>153703685
What metric? Views?
>>
>>153703893
Nigger, what's circled and underlined in the OP?
>>
>>153704046
Anon missing the context that it's views over the same period of time. Though, if you have the metrics on how many views baby shark had 22 hours after upload I'm curious now that it's been brought up.
>>
>>153703547
Guinevere was 6 million in 24 hours.
>>
>>153704172
KoG had the novelty of being their first 2D animation, so curiosity may have been higher.
The Gaslight District was mostly a flop but it got greenlit so good enough odds for Gameoverse to get greenlit too.
>>
Jesus, I get Glitch are money hungry, but do they gotta shill their merch like a fucking banner ad on the credits? I just wanna know who worked on what, dammit!
>>
>>153704227
Maybe I'm the retard, I'm more interested in Gaslight than anything else coming out. I like the ugly grime and weird unholy mystery thing going on.

gaslight is closer to MD and TADC. KoG and Gameoverse are something different. something safer.
>>
This will probably get renewed for the sheer fact they need something to put on their channel after Digital Circus ends. If each of the 4 new shows make 3 episodes a year like Digital Circus and they drop 1 a month that's 12 months of content. If they have them on a rotation it'll be enough time for each crew to finish their episodes. That way January = Knights of Guinevere, February = Gaslight District, March = Lackadaisy, April = Gameoverse, and so on.

Maybe they are thinking the higher output will distract from the fact they are losing a mega hit.
>>
>>153703547
Gameoverse made me want to watch Monkey Wrench again. Decent pilot, but they’ll have to do a lot to retain my interest.
>>
>>153704786
I think you're really understanding paying artists as a factor. This isn't AI slop. If the ads and merch don't bring in enough money credits then making an episode would lose profits time and time again. This would have to be a MEGA hit with constant traction to get greenlit after GD and KoG. Two hand drawn animated shows might lead to too many mouths to feed

You saw Gameoverse's production value. This shit is NOT coming out with 3 episodes per year
>>
>>153704888
>>153704937
All their shows have different animation teams and 100% they have a gigantic stockpile of Digital Circus money set aside to make sure those teams remain large enough to make quality animations in a decent timeframe. I dunno if 3 a year specifically would be possible, but don't expect multiyearlong wait times for new content. After Digital Circus ends with them raking in another gajillion dollars from theater sales, expect them to go all in on these 4 new shows they've got.
>>
>>153705647
When has a large amount of money ever been evenly distributed amongst teams of artists?
>>
>>153705674
Never, but it all trickles down eventually.
>>
>>153705674
>>153705704

I couldn't find the exact 22 hour viewcount, but it got 2.8 million in the first 9 hours which I'm certain Gameoverse cleared way earlier. Alongside that they got about 6 millie in a "day" but Gameoverse only stops being a "day" old in about 21 and a half hours, and it's already at 5.3 million views as of writing this. So Gameoverse might just be the best performing pilot since Digital Circus if this trend continues.
>>
>>153707890
This is the most autistic viewpost I've seen in this thread so far. Instead of discussing the quality of these pilots, you're going to boil it all down to viewcounts? Holy shit, they've already got merch plugging during the credits, why should any of this matter when they're currently one of THE biggest YT channels right now?
>>
>>153703685
It is, little BITCH.
>>
>>153707914
Because # of views decide if it gets greenlit duh. There's a million other threads discussing the merits or lackthereof regarding the pilot, this one's about the viewership.

Gaslight might not pull in the numbers but at least it's fanbase is genuine and insightful. Not having to have youtube content farms spoonfeed us the lore or get sucked in by nostalgia.
>>
>>153708003
Breadwinners was some literal who web cartoon that got uploaded to YouTube, yet that got greenlit. Views hardly matter. (Probably because the creators got connections previously via film festivals.)
>The short was uploaded to YouTube with positive reception, and after obtaining 10,000 to 15,000 views on its first week, Borst explained, "it just took on a life of its own."[12] The creators sent it to Nickelodeon after users expressed wanting more.[12]
>>
>>153703547
Views are worthless since You tube pays peanuts for it unless you have sponsored segments from other companies. 4 Millions gives Glitch around 5 grands. The main source of success are the merch sales and i don't think Glup Shitto barney character or dolphin will ever sell anything. Consider Gameoverse cancelled.
>>
>>153708086
You don't think a cute dinosaur and dolphin won't sell plushies?
>>
>>153708003
>Because # of views decide if it gets greenlit duh.
And merch being sold.
KoG has more best selling labels for its merch than Gaslight District judging by the shop web-site.

I don't know if it's true but one crew member leaked here that KoG sells more merch than Gaslight.
>>
>>153708174
>the show literally themed after an amusement park gets more merch sales than the gross-out zombie freaks

>>
>>153708174
KoG appeals to female burnt out Disney adults. GD appeals to horror hounds, lowbrow art enthusiasts and judeo christian mysticism scholars. Who do you think is used to shelling out all their disposable income on cheap plastic and plushies?

Gameoverse is at 28 hours with 5.4M, it needs another million in the next hour and a half to surpass KOG

Something worth acknowledging is that Gaslight currently has 23 million views whereas KoG only has 19 million. So despite KoG having a stronger start, it ultimately fell behind Gaslight in the longrun.

I would almost disagree but, it really does need to expand on the story to be enjoyed
>>
>>153708970
It’s ridiculous that Gameoverse is being made by a studio that has worked in multiple visual styles, and yet the series about visiting multiple distinct worlds isn’t pulling a gumball where there are 18 different character rendering styles in the screen at any given time. The Dino and the dolphin look like they could’ve be from the same game.

Pixar spent 15 years reinventing the wheel and topping eachother at each step. Your excuse is void.
>>
>>153709124
Glitch shills would tell you it’s because of budget/first experience showrunners despite the original webseries having an 8-bit character.
Even smg4 had different artstyles for the characters but that is in part because it used licensed/licensed-skinned characters first before they became original characters.
>>
>>153709242
I mean I understand why. They want a cohesive visual design in order to sell the project as “real”. It just so happens that this concept is one which begs for the opposite approach. I highly doubt that varying up the artstyle more wasn’t considered.

Gaslight district was honestly way better for a pilot. Kit is only good for porn but even then she's outdone by background characters and that magical girl in that photo and Ms information.

Jesus Christ, gas all the autismos

IKR? By that metric, Breadwinners was a failure, and that was picked up by Nick regardless of view count! (It initially had only 10-15k views BTW.)
>>
>>153708003
No it doesn’t. Green lighting is based 100% on merch sales.

>>
>>153704071
>>153703685
Not a very fair comparison, this is comparing two similar 'products' with similar target audiences.

>>153704172
>>153704227
KoG is 2D, which does draw more attention, and it was more hyped, and it has a famous author behind it. Gaslight isn't bad, many people praise its visuals, but its grimy and dark setting is more niche.
>>
>>153704333
That's how these shows get made. Merch is very important to them.
>>
>>153711797
Yup, just like older cartoons. It's just how it is.
>>
>>153704172
And currently has less views than GD did at that point in time and by the way it looks it will never surpass it.
>>
>>153712167
It should've never stopped on TV either. It's way better than relying on investors who would never allow something like this to be made while sponsoring countless "adult" cartoon sitcoms and comfyslop shows for queer 20-something women.
>>
>>153712792
Those queer 20-something women can afford to fill their rooms with stuffed toys but struggling parents find it easier to pass their kid a tablet to play with than spend their meager paychecks on plastic garbage they'll get tired of in a week.

This is in fact the plot of the next toy story movie.
>>
6 million achieved. I think we can call that "reasonable success, probably greenlit". Good luck, Ross.
>>
>>153712792
Investors can be unreliable, yeah. They may decide to jump ship, or put pressure to have shit changed.
