I've hated the fucking discourse on this board recently, but I'm interested to see what (you) consider peak female character design.

Boobs and ass

Snake tits.
Centaur.
Harpies.

It may be my Greek heritage but there's nothing wrong with the classics.

This but don't make it obvious. The moment you turn a character into
>look how sexy I am, haha!
Like Heed, a lot of waifubait indie stuff, etc, you produce cringewaves that make people not like your work as much beyond the sex appeal. Which can be fine but it will repel a wide audience. Especially if it's furry, furshit inherently repels normies if it feels too sexual.

Jagged mouths.
I want more jagged mouthed females.

Also they have to be round SOMEWHERE. But it doesn't always have to be in the hips or chest.

The secret I feel is to make a character design that is sexually appealing without being overtly so

Like Scarlet Skips clearly has the tits and the ass but she has just enough modesty and things going on about her that they're not really the focus except in certain shots. The real draw of her character design is how extremely expressive and wide eyed she is. The booba is just a plus.

Your characters can still be very feminine but there's a balance to consider.

girly eyelashes, simple but effective
>>
>>153714734
I like eyelashes on guy characters too though

>>153714486
That robot design is really cute, I could see her as a platformer protagonist

Then emphasize the sexual dimorphism in other ways.

that's outdated and problematic now

The best female design is wife material.
>>
The only times I've ever thought something was "peak design" was Piccolo in DBZ and Maka from the 2008 Soul Eater anime.

We decided 18 years ago with /Co/llette.

Also, holy shit, she's from 18 years ago? My dusty old bones are full of green dust.

2nd design is cute, give her some eyelashes and a little bit of boob and there you go

Shit taste
>>
>>153716480
I like cartoony non-human designs, eat shit
>>
>>153714804
it makes them look too girly, espeically on simple designs. That's just how it is

She was da best
>>153716480
she literally just looks like a guy, there's nothing feminine about her so there's no reason to call it "peak female character design" if nothing about "her" is female
>>
>>153716495
>I like cartoony non-human designs
>Thinks arbitrarily adding eyelashes and boob would make it better
No you don't
>>153716646
And what's the problem with that? A robot in this case doesn't necessarily need feminine attributes. Besides the artists point in the first place was that utilizing 'girly' elements isn't the end-all-be-all for female characters
>>
>>153714486
Short, Sharp teeth, small tits, wideish hips, shoulder lenght hair, slightly tomboyish :D
>>
>>153717004
>And what's the problem with that
You can't say it's peak Female character design if nothing about it reads as female. Eve from wall-e still reads as female even without tits and eyelashes because of the great shape language. You can have really different/interesting female designs while still making them look like women
>>
>>153717423
I see, you make good points and are right about Eve, but I also am personally a fan when female characters don't feel the need to "still look like a woman", especially when it comes to non-humanoids; so I suppose it's a fundamental disagreement between us. In the end it comes down to the what the artist wants to do, anyhow
>>
>>153718504
NTA but I agree with you. I think Eve's design is good but that it also falls into a design pitfall with regards to her being a 'girl' robot.

Is that a trap?
