What are the chances of it being a good movie? And I'm not talking about something mediocre and fleeting that will be forgotten when it leaves theaters but "ok"

No, I'm talking about the possibility of it being as good as the first two movies (although I like Shrek 4). Or will it be as bad as Toy Story 5? It seems like people are more excited about Shrek 5 than Toy Story 5.

A good sign is the respect for the fans in not releasing the movie with that terrible animation from the teaser. Do we have hope??

Literally none
you can't beat a dead horse back to life
>>
>>153726586
It certainly won’t be nominated at the Oscars like the first 2 movies.

Its over??
>>

Yes
>>
>>153726586
It should be good, considering it's the Shrek movie with the longest development time since the first one
>>
>>153727405
By that metric, Escape from Planet Earth is the greatest animated film ever made.
>>
>>153726798
Aye, eet's ogre.
>>
>>153726586
I'm sure it'll be decent enough

>Instead this new universe will feel familiar to us.
They're going to the REAL WORLD, and by the real world I mean New York. The city specifically, not the state. And we're not even going to bother acknowledging the existence of any borough with a name that doesn't rhyme with Banbattan, because there's only one place on Earth where cartoon characters are allowed to exist.
>>
>>153726586
none of the Shrek movies is particularly good

>>153727683
I think you'll find Food Fight! is still in development

There is a random chance that someone connected with the film actually makes an interesting or compelling variation on the previous formula.

But it's way more likely that it'll just be a formula moneygrab slapped together to meet a release schedule.
>>
>>153726686
Seriously, WHY
>>
>>153726586
I seriously doubt it.
Shrek as a franchise is now old enough that kids who grew up on Shrek Forever After are old enough to work on Shrek 5.
>>
>>153730450
Slamfatten?
>>
Puss in Boots 2 was surprisingly good so I'm willing to give it a shot, but fuck me there's some red flags.
>>
>>153726586
The only way I can see this premise working is if its not a "Oh look, its Shrek but IN THE REAL WORLD? ',:)" and more "Hey they're trapped in the wolrd where every fairy tale story and creature is technically made. They're in the origin of the world of ideas".

But I doubt they could make a full movie with that premise properly. They need to rewrite the script and make it more like a family road trip where shrek takes his daughter on an advture ti wizard College or something to drag put their last moments together

>Decent idea
Shrek goes to Wonderland (bonus points if they make fun of the Tim Burton version and Disnry live action in general)
>Mediocre idea
Shrek goes to Neverland and all characters become child versions of thenselves
>Weak idea
Shrek goes to the Aesop Fables universe because they ran out of Fairy Tale material
>Bad idea
Shrek goes to the real world
>CANCER idea
Shrek goes to the Kung Fu panda world and starts the DreamWorks expended universe

Are they really reanimating the entire thing in a different style after the reception??

Im not gonna lie, I think the older style works better for Shrek, its a parody of Fairy tales, so all characters looking less cartoonish and more realistically proportioned helped....but reanimating an entire movie got to be a big gamble.

Ice age 1 was kino
Ice age 2 was worse
Ice age 3 is the best

Jurassic Park was kino
Jp 2 was worse
Jp 3 even worse
Jurassic world was kino

So it could work

Here is a better idea: What if just like Shrek made fun of Renaissance Disney, Shrek made fun of the current state of live action mixed media we have today with the Disney remakes and Sonic/Smurfs style flicks?
Shrek goes to the live action flick world, Donkey becomes a CGI version of himself and they state that he looks like total shit, Shrek goes to NY and is completely unimpressed by it and just states that it smells worse than his swamp, the human character tries to bond with him and he just tells him to shove off, then he end when he goes back to his world and states "let's never go back there again! That place fucking sucks!"
>>
>>153731220
>Wild card idea
Shrek goes to the real world circa 15th century
>>
>>153726586
0% and you can tell by the art style being wildly different. avoid

>Shrek goes to a parody of the Disney Parks and interacts with Disney adults
It would be very based if DreamWorks still had the balls

>>153730450
>The city specifically, not the state.
explain why you think an upstate new york shrek movie would make any kind of sense
>>
>>153726586
>parallel universe nonsense
>In a Shrek movie
Dead in the water unless it’s intentionally there to throw jabs at the accompanying cliches and/or what a retarded concept the Multiverse is/has become
>>
>>153726586
well since the teaser was about Shrek memes they're obviously going to the real world where the Shrek movies exist, therefore it is guaranteed to be shit just like Matrix Ressurections

Zero

Kek. I didn't even know there was a 3&4th shrek movie
