Since Disney stopped adapting classic stories and tales, their movies have become worse.Do these new writers at Disney not read anymore?
>>153728486The problem with this is that Disney has already adapted the most famous of public domain material. And anything else they never adapted was done by other studios and they did it even better. And if Disney tries to adapt more recent public domain material they will get sued for trademarks so not worth it.However your image shows a bigger problem, shitty original movies that find success despite being low quality shit. Humans are stupid fuckers and should be killed because they buy anything especially if its garbage shit like Zootopia or Coco, or Inside Gay Out. Bunch of shitty stories with shitty characters that still find success.Disney is fine, the ones who are fucked are the retarded shit for brain normies who buy into anything trash. They deserve to have their children molested by evil bastards for the crime of being stupid.
>>153728486Pic unrelated?
>>153728486cuddling with nick w?
>>153728638It felt less like a story and more like random events weakly strung together.
>>153728486> Do these new writers at Disney not read anymore?Haven't we ran out of classic fairly tales by now? It feels like we've ran out of classic fairy tales to make Disney movies out of. The last fairy tale movie based on a classic fairy tale is Frozen- and that is heavily modified from "The Snow Queen." Although Moana is based on "The Hero's Journey" and Coco is based around "The Hero's Journey." I can't really think of any other fairy tales that would make good Disney movies. A lot of the fairy tales across Europe have overlaps in them.
>>153728683I mean any fairy tales could make an okay Disney movie, that's what "adaptation" is for. Even putting aside films like Hoodwinked that beat Disney to the punch, you still have:>Hansel and Gretel>Jack and the Beanstalk>Pied Piper>Rumpelstiltskin>Three Billy Goats GruffAll Western stories that Disney could've been rewritten or reworked into something unique.
>>153728486>Reading stories made by dead white men to justify oppressing birthing persons and black and brown bodies.YIKES
>>153728486>Do these new writers at Disney not read anymore?Writers? You mean the Braintrust? Why would they read?
>>153728683They have loads of books too watership down to the alchemist to even johnny tremain. If they want classics, they can even try to adapt pride and prejudice or anna K
>>153728668The Zootopia films are detective stories traversing different climates. You're confusing that for a random series of events even though the core character conflicts drive the narrative.
>>153728486I liked z2 but I won't lie the writing is ass, it's supposed to be two cops following breadcrumbs trails type of shit (with some relationship drama subplot) but every single thing that happens is just way too convenient, every single clue just appears when the characters needed it the most, at least the first film somewhat tried, the second film didn't even bother i did like pawbert in how he's someone who's only priority is approval from his father, when judy told him he can be different from his father he flat out refuses "i don't want to be" that was pretty good, but yeah the writing is going downhill with these movies
>>153728486Encanto is genuinely good. But yeah modern Disney is a huge, huge step down from what it used to be. Picrel was also scrapped. And who knows. Maybe the production was genuinely flawed. But it seems as if the scrapping of it kind of marks them genuinely going in a different direction for what they're trying to produce.
