A lot of GLITCH shows build off of the pilot episode when given the go-ahead to dedicate more time to them, so if we're seeing more of Gameoverse it's going to get back to the of the end of the pilot and move on from there, which I'm not liking. My biggest fear is the limited time we'll be having with this cast and their universe. GLITCH's absolute cash cow is ending without ever reaching double digit episodes after 2 years. I don't see Gameoverse getting more episodes than that or being in production for more than 3 years, and that's sad since there's quite a bit that can be done with the concept.

The problem is that these therapyspeak moments almost never feel earned. I've mentioned in a past thread that the problem with a lot of modern writing is it all feels highly derivative of what's been done in other media, rather than coming from a place of actual experience tackling said issues. Tl;dr, the writers are forcing these emotional beats because they feel like they have to. It's emotional blackmail. You can't make someone like or care about your characters just because you have them break down on screen. The bad voice acting also didn't help.

Kit's origin story should have been the first episode, with the shot we see with the title screen being either the end of the episode or near the end. It's really obvious that the note we see her referencing is the paper guy doing his thing, and having that be established would have made him doing the same thing to Flappers in the next episode hit a little better and establish him as a veteran in the whole planet-harvesting business. Would have made the breakdown feel better too since we got to see, firsthand, that process rather than already having everyone working around Flappers to make happen/stop it from happening.

In anime they realize it is an entertainment medium first and foremost, the art is meant to be visually impactful, everything is in service of trying to make an enticing production out of the character's suffering. It's the difference between focusing on a message and focusing on entertainment I guess. There's more to be said about it but that's all I can think of.
