Remember when we used to have long autistic threads about this?
>>153738948We used to have long autistic threads about many things. Not anymore tho.
>>153738948No. I must've come in late because whenever this came up, everybody was screaming at OP to get their autism off the board.
>>153738948>>153738972What happened to these kind of fun fics/comics/projects? I remember many of them in the 2010s but post covid /co/ is a desert.
>>153738948>dtoonzHaven't thought about the guy since his "Toons These Days" series. It was extremely interesting having a literal cartoon reviewer, you never see that anymore. (Unless you count LS Mark, but really, WOULD you?)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR4EYJjsLEs
>>153738948Did this ever go anywhere?
>>153738948Not really I always considered cross overs extremely autistic and rarely ever funny or interesting.
>>153739174God there's a blast from the past I wasnt expecting
>>153739213Fan art mostly. /co/ never really completes anything. That mystery kids pilot is a testament to how infertile a board this place is.
>>153739156Thigs changed. Not sure if it was the attitude of the board, or the type of autism we got, or society or whatever, but things changed.
>>153738948>>153739156Oldfags left, cartoons got worse, and with that so too did the board's community atrophy. If you've payed attention to this place in the last year you get one of five threads (invincible, the boys, absolute batman, tadc, and indie animation) and none of those really lend themselves to community spitballing. The drawthreads have become cesspools and the work on your art threads barely survive a day anymore. We're bleeding out.
>>153739290All we need left is to bring back skribbl.io threads, they were the most collaborative part of /co/.
>>153739250We had a coordinated campaign of brigaders pushing brown girl caravans of porn and boy chad harems. Everyone agreed it was either gay, woke or annoying. Then the shows ended and or the ideas were co-opted by pedos that slunk into the corners of the internet and became yt video 4chan legend material.Just an all around worst case scenario.
>>153739315>bring back skribbl.io threadsThey still happen every friday night, except they switched to sketchful very recently
>>153740609>sketchfulSick, I'll be sure to keep a lookout.
Cartoons were better back then. You can't expect people to just ignore modern shit.
>>153739225Loved Problem Solverz even back then, but Doggy's opening reaction to Problem Solverz still makes me laugh.
>>153739156I have a conspiracy theory.I think Project Chanology spooked the powers that be. We know now that Epstein "convinced" moot to make /pol/ entirely to foster an online extremist center. I think it's gone further than that, intentionally, to ruin the culture of the website and keep it neutered.I've been here since 2010. 4chan was always offensive, yeah, but it was also genuinely creative and attracted people interested in that creative energy. It attracted people who cared about shit for the sake of it.But ever since /pol/, that changed. No one talks about "Oh this shit is rules" any more. "You actually LIKE that show? It's DEI tranny nigger wokeslop, you retard. Be cool and hate shit like me. Here, let's imagine a scenario that hasn't happened purely to make ourselves angry. Oh, you're calling me out on my bullshit? You're not welcome here. I'm the culture and always have been."I dunno if it's Russians, Indians, or just plain bots, but I think there's a concentrated campaign to keep 4chan angry, negative, easily controlled, and distracted from doing anything.
>>153742373Frankly anon I think you're half right, but it's not so much that /pol/ is the problem as much as it is this place becoming a magnet for shitheads on the internet. I'm not talking about chuds either, I believe that to be a copout. I'm talking about shit stirrers. People with nothing better to do tha sticka bee in your bonnet. So everyone moves on out. The denizens of 2016 /pol/ migrated to the fediverse and then to X. What we've been leff with are the left overs from years past and newfags. >but I think there's a concentrated campaign to keep 4chan angry, negative, easily controlled, and distracted from doing anything. This is the entire internet at this point. Hollywood operates off this system too. Chalk it up to social decay if you like.
>>153742373>But ever since /pol/, that changed/pol/ is a huge problem but tbf current /pol/ is completely different to 2015-2016 /pol/. People used to have fun and they even made some interesting comics and memes. Current /pol/ is a hellhole.
>>153742373I'm pretty sure, not surprisingly, the problem was social media, mainly twitter. When TUMBLR and 4chan fought it was fun. But, twitter tourists were so toxic they made draw anons leave, and then, where did they go? TWITTER! I personally saw drawfriends leave this site, getting chased off by hate mobs and then just become daily twitter users, just addicted to bullshit and distractions. Even Mossa, terrible, the list goes on, some of these people have BLUSKYS! What is with this addiction? I never understood it. The only cool artists i know from those times that are still cool have NG accounts. That's a funny way to find soul is still there. They still have socials but, as long as they still have that they haven't completely left the space
>>153739156When was like the last show network show people actually genuilly liked. Like no "kinda good" or "I wanna fuck one of the girls" like liked liked.
>>153742373The sysops of the chanology era were all fed lapdogs masquerading as blackhat super heroes ready to take on the nwo. Going back a few years before that, the dudes who actually built 4chan weirdly enough all work for big tech pillars, or are straight up stationed in a fucking darpa labConspiratorial conjecture aside, commercialization of the net and the difficulty of finding advertisers for your niche creative community is why the age of crazy internet cartoons was cut short. Long gone are the days where a rag-tag assortment of dorks could just start their own memes and spin them in ridiculous directions, or express the most vulgar, strange ideas in the form of a 5 minute flash cartoon/sims machinima/puppet show; you get the pointThere are still brilliant guys out there. But good luck getting them all together in the same room.. or website, because running your own circus is fucking expensive, and even if there were an independently wealthy up-and-coming site runner, the powers at be will be quick to shut that shit down, applying one or more of the usual tactics>cp>lolsuits>school shooting/bomb threats
>>153743101Villainous? I think that had more going for it than JUST waifus. I think that's part of it too, anons were starved out of producing OC by studios. And were just stuck with the bill and hundreds of hungry anons wanting free stuff. That's what our draw threads are filled with now
>>153743108Dont forget, opportunities are drying up as economies the world over contract and shrivel up. Population collapse and inflation are a hell of combination to contend against.
>>153743100>What is with this addiction? I never understood it.Money. Terrible does nothing but commissions. Why would he draw for the awful drawthread for free instead of earning money on twitter? I miss his caturday drawings but I understand him and many other artists. I don't understand how Dbaru and Red can keep going after so many years without falling for the twitter money.
>>153743100There is no ideal social media service at this point. Every availible option comes with its own set of pros and cons. Twitter gained the most traction because it became the hip cool spot for teens and 20 somethings to call home after tumblr banned porn, but even before that, it had that same perception. Maybe it's down to the californian influence? I still cant make heads or tails of that part of the equation. As far as artfags go though, they're being starved of attention where ever they go.
>>153743122>>153743101People fucking LOVED Primal when it was airing.
>>153743122>VillainousNo? It was always niche and the second wave of shorts ruined any potential by making black hat an unstoppable multiversal force of evil that shit talked all the beloved CN villains.
>>153743201Yeah, that's also the issue. It's like every show that gets really popular here just spills spaghetti at the finish line and makes everyone feel dumb for liking it. Really good way to make people feel like they wasted 3 years of their life multiple times. It just makes you want to wait until a show is over to draw fanart. Something a lot of these artists who drew these crossovers got to do
>>153739250Mobile phones happened. The majority of site traffic, think 90%+, comes from mobile phones now, and the majority of those users are people not at home, likely at work or commuting to/from work (where they're probably miserable). It's easier to get a quick dopamine hit from either dreaming about what-ifs, talking about shit that'll never happen, or laugh at people trying to do stupid shit. And because they're on their phone, they can't (or won't) take part in most creative endeavors that involves /co/ related topics, such as drawing. This is the same reason why template threads mostly died out, because image editing on your phone compared to PC is too much of a hassle. Also society just doesn't want to do anything at all in general anymore because deviating ever so slightly outside of the status quo will get you screencapped/recorded and posted on Twitter or Reddit or Tiktok for internet likes and upvotes at your expense. Mobile phones caused this, too.
>>153738948What's that, camp sherwood?
>>153744224No, it's Dtoons' Cartoon Cafe series. It still gets new episodes.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7f6kIK6Nis
>>153744251Nevermind, it's Team Teen, which concluded a couple years ago.https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfrw8TjpxvDkAnOkPvHesU6psiWrJSVZw
>Mystery Kids>Scholastic Squad>Teen TeamWhat else?
>>153739156Modern 4chan hates comfy threads and having unironic fun.
>>153744426Swapped has a great thread so far. >>153716935
>>153744426Marco Harem. Not fully dead, but far from its hey day.
>>153745303That wasn't a /co/ thing, it's always been just one single autist pushing it and commissioning artists to draw it.
>>153744426Do the Channel-Tans count? I think there was some drama in /ctg/ or something.Probably a good thing considering how most channels are pretty much dead now.
>>153738948Thats the wrong image motherfucker
>>153742667>This is the entire internet at this point.Hate how true this is.>>153744111I think there's a sliver of truth to this too. The internet went from something you had to put a modicum of effort into to seek out into something we're expected to be on 24/7. And that doesn't make for a healthy environment of people who care and have creative passion.
>>153744426Here's a question for (you)What could we do in the same vein as Teen Team nowadays?
>>153744256>Start out with the golden line up from OP's pic>hamfist in the likes of Star Butterfly, the Pine twins, steven universe, and other mid 2010's dregswhat the fuck man?
>>153745833For what it's worth I'd be down to spitball some ideas but we need to establish some sort of common ground or shared interest before hand, otherwise I'll just be speaking into the void
>>153743108What if I tell you that creative people were jews and race mixxed jews?
>>1537391564chan became a recruiting tool by the right.
>>153739156The autists who grew up on the same cartoons as you are too old to keep making them, and the new autists fixate on their own childhoods that you can't relate to because you're an adult.
>>153742373I agree
I miss Nicktoons Unite Autism...
>>153746401I wish Tuesday X made it into one of those games, she'd be a perfect fit for that group.
>>153745865I'm mostly into cartoons, Nicktoons, Disney, that sort of thing. When it comes to comics, I know more about Marvel than DC, and I love Asterix.
>>153746401I still find it funny that even years after the show ended anything that was officially Nicktoons had to have Jimmy in it to facilitate the crossovers to happen.Wouldn’t surprise me if there was a point where people knew about Jimmy more from Nicktoons crossovers than from his actual show.
>>153739174I remember watching his stuff man. Good times...
>>153742373>No one talks about "Oh this shit is rules" any more. I'm the culture and always have been."This is a problem on other websites, too, but I know what you mean.
>>153745585I mean, Scholastic Squad originated from elsewhere aside from Amelia being added
>>153744444Quints of truth
>>153746960I mean who else could be the main guy to replace? Fucking Lincoln Loudhouse?
>>153738948I remember when the finale for Star Vs came out and her wiping out magical creatures was the equivalent to Thanos snapping the verse. I remember all the greens and it was a really cool concept that I still occasionally think about
>>153744111This. You don't hate pic rel enough.
