She's the one we enter the Circus with, she is the one who incites most of the action in the show. She's also the one the show ends on. Jax, by contrast is the person who couldn't, and despite Pomni's efforts she can't "save him". It's very fucking obvious that he felt guilt over not being able to stop his friends from killing themselves, which leads to him putting up walls, pushing people away, and ultimately committing suicide. Pomni tries, and fails, to make a connection with Jax, she can't save him and I suspect we're going to see Jax go through something similar with Ribbit in his memories.The story is about her not making his mistakes, and not going down the same self destructive road as him for similar reasons. It's fucking sad because she tried to make a connection with him, got to know him, and is now left having to live in a world without him, but that's not her fault. You can't blame yourself for not being able to save someone else.Is there a version of the story that you could write where she stops him from killing himself? Sure, but that's not what Gooseworx was writing and to be honest, that's a really shitty message to write in a story about suicide, because it's exactly what you cannot do when someone is suicidally depressed. The message should be, you couldn't stop them but it's not your fault and you shouldn't blame yourself for it.You can be sad that Jax dies but him abstracting is the most predictable thing about the finale and while I'm sure there's a bunch of details we haven't seen yet, everything this far has led to Jax abstracting as a completely fitting end for his character.

I think I'm more upset at the unlikely hood that the Jax "flashback" panic attack scenes will be addressed in any horror based method to explain his presence in the circus. That and the approaching redemption/regaining the bunny tail thing seemed to just get thrown out.
