The school season wasn't as ingrained in my memory as much as the first 4 so I rewatched it recently, what do you guys think of it? It's kinda awkward how they didn't wanna make background characters beyond a silhouette or an arm.

Was it ever confirmed that this was the direction Danny wanted for the series or was he forced by the network to make them attend school? Really odd we don't know the details.

Cause EEnE was mostly over by then. Their heyday was the powerhouse era.

yeah its one of those ideas that was interesting but ultimately not a very good one

pretty sure that it was something the network demanded but I could be wrong

The school season wasn't awful, but it was definitely the worst season. It's got some good episodes.

pretend I said something controversial about the Kanker Sisters.

I always like seeing art from Danny and other people who worked on the show because it makes me imagine what other characters in the EEnE world would look like

The flanderization was too strong but it had its moments

It felt creepy that no other characters were there. It felt so empty, it was like Kmart or Sears. Seeing just the shadows and arms of background characters was eerie, like why can’t we seem them? What’s wrong are they ghost apparitions or something? They’re playing football in one but that’s hard to do if you can’t show anyone else. Then don’t even make a school setting if you can’t commit fully to it with other kids, just stay in the cul-de-sac. They’re basically restricting themselves with the school setting. They really did not want another character or even a single background character in the show, going so far as to only show arms. Showing background characters would ruin the atmosphere of the show would it?

I remember back when it was renewed there was an article saying CN mandated the school setting for a new season, but I can't be assed to find an obscure 20 year old article right now. So take this post with a grain of salt I guess. Although just practically you have to admit it'd be weird for Antonucci to want to change the setting to somewhere as awkward as a school where they had to avoid showing other students, and it's weird they'd want to throw out the "endless summer" feeling of the show to remind those same viewers of the exact place they were avoiding.
