So both of the deuteragonists in the show being the apex of their environment's evolution is pretty elite storytelling considering how both of characters suck at what the animals they're based on are supposed to be best at. Dinosaurs irl were powerhouses but Gobbles is a pushover whereas whales irl are hyperintelligent but Flappers is a retard. I find it charming but that's probably just cause I'm an eco autist ngl.

I genuinely think the old shorts has a stronger concept. Flappers' voice fits better when it's a goofball buddy comedy, Gobbles's characterization and voice is better, and the overall concept of being a loose parody of games is funnier. I get the feeling that this new incarnation will be light on humor and focusing more on character drama that goes nowhere and taking an inherently goofy concept way too seriously. There needs to be some sincerity, but nuGameoverse honestly reminds me of Amphibia, and not in a good way. Gato Sexo really is the best thing about it.

It's the same setting, it's just "darker" more "serious" and "realistic" kinda like how the Post-Crisis DC universe was different from the pre-crisis DC universe. Which in another Grant Morrison comparison, makes this kinda like Animal Man-in that the main goal is going to find the 'writer' and confront them- this all of course means One and Zero are still the whacky cartoon villains from the original series. In spite of everything I do think Kit will find a way to save the worlds even with everything against her. It won't be easy, it might even seem impossible right now, but for some reason this doesn't strike me as the kind of show that make everything hopeless for the sake of being subversive and edgy.

I want an episode where they go to some STALKER-esque Eurojank planet where both sides struggle to understand screaming slavic, Kit steps on a crack in the sidewalk and is propelled 2 miles into the air due to poorly coded physics, and the whole planet becomes a non-issue because there's a fatal glitch that causes a necessary item to despawn out of existence. The protagonist doesn't care though, he just screams in slavic and goes off to shoot more guns.
