Alright I must be retarded, so what the fuck is the ending actually? That they're all fine in the end? That whatever device they used literally just COPIED their brain, uploaded it into an avatar, and the human versions are still out and about? What the fuck is the point of any of this then? I'll try not to stir the shit: the episode itself is... okay... I guess? It's not the worst finale I've seen, but in terms of what it is, it's nowhere near something at all conclusive. Many plotpoints, potential plotpoints, just gone to the air because they want to finish the show now. The story has no real structure thematically and for as much as they focus on Jax, the bullshit we see in 9 STILL doesn't feel like it has a proper build up for when we go into his psyche (or whatever) and get this moment with him. When I watched the convo between him and Pomni, I can feel that there was potential. There's merit in creating a character that's so wracked with guilt and insecurity that keeps making themselves worse and being reminded that they can be loved, IF they are willing to try. But it doesn't really come anywhere near that and this dilemma is just brought up out of nowhere in the finale. I could write more but there's other things I wanna say. Caine being alive is retarded, and him just ripping out his bad.exe self is also stupid and seems like something that would have consequence of some kind down the road if the story was still going. Jax going crazy offscreen is ACTUALLY fucking stupid, and him being "salvageable" from his abstracted form is also dumb, because why is he the only one they've tried this on? It just all feels poorly thought about because Goose apparently uses Jax aa his self insert and seems like he was more focused on venting his bullshit than telling a well written story. I give it a 4.5/10. It's midwit, shallow slop. Could be way better.
